My son is coming to visit us for a few days,in our MH. He wants to go fishing off of a pier. We found some charter boats, but thats not what he wants. Any one know of a public pier that may be good for fishing in the area?

Found this on a Michigan Website.

"The maritime academy is always great in August but the june and july are usually slow. There's also the clinch park pier and the coal dock but I would just drive over to Frankfort if you want to catch trout and salmon because there's no where else where they will really be near shore. If you go over there, look for an east or a north wind or somewhere in between and the fish will be in. That will blow all the warm water out and leave the cold water in so all the fish will be very close to the shore and piers."

Here's another ....

" The Boardman Dam was a good spot. Caught perch, bass, pike and a few rainbows right there by the dam during the summer. Minnows or crawlers would be your best bet. There also was a spot I use to go in Acme. Parking near the resort and walked out along the beach to a point. There is a little creek that runs out by the resort and I caught browns there during the spring.
