When we purchased our new RV i decided it was time for new cookware. I spotted a nice set at WM. I was Wally Docking at the time. ( note/ I did not put out lawn chairs, extend the slide, nor put down jacks)
The set looked to be fairly good quality stainless steel with copper bottoms, and were under the Betty Crocker label.
This is the problem. If we put the pots on the gas cooktop with water in the pot to bring to a boil, it will not boil. With the pots on a burner, turned to high and after one hour, it would not boil.
Has anybody ever encountered this? Is it the copper bottoms? It does not make sense.
I am very frustrated and don't know how to explain this to the customer service department, without looking like a nut. Why would a propane flame not have this pot up to temperture in a short time? I googled the cookware and it has great reviews. I thing I'm getting as crazy as my wife. Then again, it was me who drove her that way. LOL
People sy I'm a great cook, but I can't even boil water!

I am not so sure it is the fault of the cookware. On our stove we have a "speed burner" for boiling water but doing pasta water is still a challenge. Maybe aluminum might give you a little bit better conduction but you may be "shooting the messenger". We use the rice cooker for anything that requires prolonged boiling.

Our GS bought a set of cookware at WallyWorld for himself. At an auction, I bought a whole box of RevereWare for a few bucks & cleaned it up with soap pads until it looked like new. I asked him if he could use the cookware and he took it. Later he told me the WallyWorld stuff went into the trash because the RevereWare was by far better, so I'm just saying there's a difference.

I doubt that the problem is with your copper bottomed pots. Copper is an excellent conductor of heat. I suspect that the problem lies with the burners on your cook top. Have them checked out by a gas dealer. They probably need to be adjusted.

Have you tried this cookware in your home or on a different stove? If water boils there, it is not the cookware.

Just tried the cookware on the glass stovetop and it boiled in 14 minutes. I then tried it in the RV. It boiled in 12 minutes. The difference was I had the top cover on. It would not boil without it.
Boy, do I feel stupid! THANKS EVERYONE

It was probably boiling even though you didn't see a "rolling boil". Sort of like what happens when you microwave water. Covering it helps or you might try stiring the water to disturb the water to get it to roll.

Where were you. Altitude makes a big difference also.

We were actually at a very low altitude. Barely above sea level.
