Ok, I'm Sitting there at the rear pump partially blocking traffic behind me. The car in front finishes fill up and moves out. Before I can move up to fill up, this purty red convertable zips around me and pulls up to pump. I never saw such a pretty Blond lady jump so far when she heard the air horn behind her. She looked back and realized what she had done and motioned her apoligies and moved off with a smile. I apoligized her back and pulled up and filled up. She did come around to the pump on the other side and said she was sorry but just didn't notice what I was doing.

I scan every fuel stop lot way before I make my turn to enter. That still doesn't stop people from cutting you off or getting out while you're waiting behind them and going inside and staying for days. Keep an eye open and keep ducking.

"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us".
It happens to the best of us. I had one in a parking lot I thought I would get through. I only needed about 3 inches of clearance to make my turn but I couldn't do it. Had to get out, unhook, back up 3", hook back up, and had to stop and wave to the crowd of about 50 people that had come out of the building to watch the show I was putting on. aRRGGHHHHH!
Guess I have it pretty good with a rig that is 22 foot, not much longer than my pickup truck. I've had a couple of people that are really rude at gas pumps. I am thinking either air horns or some "Q" device that moves the offending vehicle to another pump. Yes a Bond fan.
I guess most people just don't pay enough attention to what they are doing, until it is to late.
We have been RV'ers for a bit over 45+ years now. And we have never had a problem yet, like this.
Maybe becasue I was an OTR Trucker for many many years, so I really pay attention to what I am always doinig.
Makes me no differance towing a TT, or a 5er or a Motorhome with a Toad behind it. When you do something long enough, it just becomes second nature.
We have never had to drop our Toad for any reason, other than we wanted to. But thats just me. I always check out quickly, before I ever enter any Gas Station to see if its duable or not.
I'm also always aware of our Motorhomes Over-Hang, and Rear Swing also, so Gas Pumps and objects are never a problem either. Am I perfect, no, but I sure do pay attention to what I am always doing though.
Wife: Go down there and turn around
Me: There's not enough room to turn around
Wife: yes there is. you can do it.
Me: %^^#^#%^@@# as I try to get the toad unhooked because there wasn't enough room to turn around.
Wife: Dead silence

I've wondered why people didn't at least try this. Some toads look strong enough to pull the MH backward.....is kinda funny
