No need to read fine print! Here is a good link for looking up CG's while RV'ing. Each CG fills out a complete form with their rules and it is always clearly stated about the weight and number of dogs they accept or if they follow the breed ban list. http://www.woodalls.com/Default.aspx(click show all locations)
Then click on a CG and that takes you to the page where all the important stuff about the CG is listed.
Don't worry there are far more CG's that let you walk your dog anywhere then there are of those ones that make you pick them!
The RV Park I described in my previous posts on this thread is on the link you provided and all it says is "pets welcome". The devil is in the rules they have that are unpublished, until you arrive. Their list of the additional rules is nowhere to be found on their website or on your link. The so called two dog limit, to most guests, wasn't published at all. Not exactly a good way to do business. Read the fine print? Hard to do when it's not published.
I will review the park accordingly. Pet owners need to be warned of their practices since they aren't exactly transparent in what they make available on the web.

Cat, thank you for putting this in your RV review. We certainly do need to be warned of this practice. I don't understand why they don't publish their rules. I wonder what kind of problems ensue, when they decide not to 'allow' a dog, when the owner is sitting in their check-in?
After reading all of the posts, I felt compelled to comment. First, let me make it clear that we do not have a dog and we are NOT anti-dog. Parks with long lists of rules have them for a reason. We can only guess the history that has lead to publishing the list. In most cases, the real issue is the dog owner, not the dog. We have experienced some of the best mannered (trained) dogs that you can imagine. We have also experienced some of the worst trained dogs that ever existed. Let me say that I do not have to like your dog, I should not have to clean up after it uses my lawn for its bathroom, I should not have to listen to it bark and be unhappy when you ignore it either while on-site or while you are gone. If you want to travel with a dog or 2, invest the time in training and you and all of your neighbors will be happier.

I can't even imagine what this would encourage Jimmy to do?? When he sees me turn on the outside faucet - he gets in his "ready/set/go!" stance; then waits for me to say "OK - chase"
At that point, I set the nozzle to spray a hard line of water across the yard that he chases and bites - I really try to NOT blast him in the face, but he seems to relish it?? Of course, he's drenched when I stop the game.... but it's his idea of BIG FUN!
If I sprayed him every time he barked - he'd never shut up!!!!!! Crazy dog - must be the poodle!
Ziggy loves to bite the hose water. And runs from the spray bottle.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a wabbit, Fuzzy Wuzzy had a dandelion habit! RIP little Wuz... don't go far.
I've never had a pet, dog or cat, who was really bothered by a squirt bottle. Almost all the dogs have thought it was a fabulously fun thing, and while the cats don't enjoy it, none of them have been bothered enough by it for it to be an effective deterrent/aversive. I usually have to squirt them eight or ten times while they look at me like I've lost my mind and then they slowly saunter away, looking over their shoulders like "what is your problem?"

Do you have the spray bottle set on stream, not mist?
Two weeks ago, I was at my friend's house. She helped me with rescue for many years. Her dogs started barking and she sprayed then, and looked at me and says, "See? It doesn't do a thing!!"
She had the bottle set on mist. I took the bottle, put it on stream, and shot it across the room at the offender". Hit him in the rear end and he instantly shut up. She e-mailed me, and said her dogs have a whole new respect for her. We've been laughing ever since, about her misting the dogs.
Whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.
Wellllll, I read all 5 pages of posts. We're back from our very first trip in our brand new motor home. I will let you know how it went, briefly I hope. Shop vac'd out all the flying fur.
We have 2 toy dogs & 3 cats. We took all 5 at various times in the motor home pre-trip to see how they fared. At the last min we talked our unreliable daughter into cat-sitting two at home. Turned out the cat we took was easier than the 2 dogs. He hid behind the sofa the whole time but came out at night to leap around & look out the windows. He ate less than at home & I picked up the cat box immediately every time he went so Fred was a great travel partner. We wished he came out more to sit in our laps like at home but realized it was a new experience for him & were just glad he didn't yowl like he has on occasion. He gets on well with the 2 dogs but not the other 2 cats (related) & fights them. So next time with all of them will be a whole new ball of wax. Unless daughter will agree to watch the two unruly dogs.... she's not that great of a pet/house sitter though.
Our dogs are 8 & 11 - toy poodle & chi. Unfortunately, they are ill-behaved. And this is all our fault. I'm not Cesaer Milan. This made the trip difficult. I have no idea what a Thundershirt is & when I HAVE squirted Coco poodle with water, she just sits & cowers. I don't know if they can be re-trained at this age. I put the bark collars on once & my husb refused to put new batteries in them so they did nothing. We stayed at a park recommended on the rv park review site but it was a 1 out of 10. The 'dog walk' had many dog piles even though there were scoopers & a trash can in two places. It seemed to be an 'anything goes' park with many living there in things that haven't moved for years. Quite a few had large barking dogs, even one tied up to the awning outside. I still tried my best to be a good neighbor. Kept a baggie on me at all times & picked up immediately. They didn't always make it to the dog walk.
We didn't tow a car because it was the maiden voyage & will soon get the tow bar for next time. So we rented a car & took the dogs along. They are both so attached to me that they had to tap dance on my lap & it was hot & they slobbered & licked me. We did leave them in the motor home alone to eat out & asked a neighbor how they did. They said they stopped barking after 5 min. I thought of putting our cell phone number on an erase board in the window with a note to call if they were bothersome so we could rush home but husb was against that idea. I truly don't want to offend anyone at future parks & don't want others to be loud or sloppy either. The last tenants left garbage behind & drinks on the picnic table so it was swarming with ants. Something I hadn't anticipated but that's why it got a '1' rating and another issue. We are total newbies. Never been camping before even. So we're lucky we came back alive & with the RV intact. Which we did. No scratches or dents.
The hardest part was going in & out. They go ballistic every time the door opens & have to be with me. So they had to sit in my gravity chair with me at all times & they wound their leashes around my ankles when I tried to walk. I had to carry 11-yr old Carmelita in & out because I noticed she was having trouble. She has no steps at home. One of our neighbors who lives there permanently had just adopted a boxer-pit mix a week before & I kept asking if I could trade my two for his one. She was so well behaved. Off leash & minded him to a tee. I was depressed about how mine act, but they're our 'kids' and we'll have to work with them for future trips. I like the idea of a baby gate to keep them back. Our door is hard to open & close. Didn't notice that when we were testing it prior to purchase. It takes a few seconds to open & then you have to pull real hard to close. There's something like a cylinder up top & I asked husb if we could disconnect that because I kept worrying Fred would escape. He has never been out free in his life, always an indoor guy so even with his name tag we doubt we'd ever find him again, which terrifies us.
So I probably rambled & will get all sorts of criticism for having anxious, neurotic toy dogs. But we came home to an RV special on the travel channel that is tempting us to all sorts of future locales. I did mention to husb tonight though that I hope they don't live as long as our past dogs - 13 & 15. Today is our 32nd anniversary & we've only had two dogs pass away.
