Is there a listing anywhere that tells where there are motels that have rv hookups? We are traveling in Illinois and Indiana and last night could not find a campground. We finally stopped at a rest area but I have heard of people that seem to always know where there is a motel with rv parking. Just wondered if someone knew how he knows or how to find out.

There's one just over the border of Illinois in Wisconsin. You know by driving by them . I have never seen them advertised and with the economy the way it is every one I have seen driving by all always filled with permanent residents and quite frankly you couldn't pay me to stay in one.

I did find that the new Shell Gas Stations are becoming VERY RV friendly as their interstate signs profess. I have now been in 2 of them that have 4 brand new installed RV sites on concrete behind the gas stations with FULL hook ups!!

And their RV only gas lane is truly set up for an RV to pull in and out. This was THE best stop off the interstate I have ever experienced. I hope Shell builds more and they put that sorry excuse for an RV friendly gas station Flying J out of business!!

I-39 Illinois exit 39.

Also look for casino campgrounds, many offer free or very inexpensive camping deals.

Retired from 42 years in Senior Management for a major worldwide hotel company. Never had a hotel with any, we did have a few RV's that paid for a room and ran a cord out the window to the RV

A motel w/ RV hookups sounds like an oxymoron, but I can see how that would make business sense (and profit!)

I have stayed at two Motel/RV parks. One in AR and one in TX. So, they do exist. Just don't have a listing.

There is a motel in Broken Bow, OK that has a few RV hookups behind the motel and 18 wheeler parking.

There are several in the Niagara Falls area with the motel being out front and a few RV sites in the back. They do exist. I am getting excited thinking that Shell is making it easier for Rver's who are just passing through to be off the road, safe and also have hook-ups. I would gladly pay to do so. I also like the Ohio Turnpike with RV hook ups. We gladly pay 20 to stay for the night. I don't think that the Walmart overnighters are being cheap. I and perhaps others just don't want to get off the highways, drive 10 miles to a campground to turnaround the next morning and drive back to the highway.
