Whatever you use be sure to check the route the software gives you against a paper map, a reality check. Since any of these will send you down goat paths, especially out west. I've been using DeLorme but have used Streets and Trips in the past.

I recently loaded the 2013 version of Streets and Trips. Things that are new:
1. They've replaced many of the menu words with icons - the same icon eight times. They appear on the main menu representing New Map, Find Nearby Places, Find Location, Zoom Out, Zoom In, Driving directions, Current View in Bing Maps, and Get Help. Hardly intuitive.
2. "Find Nearby Places" includes 15 different restaurant types and 41 different place types, only one of which is "campgrounds", which now includes repair facilities, dealers and RV supply stores. A quick check of "Campgrounds" within 20 miles of Cincinnati, where I live, showed 8 listings, that includes 1 trailer park for permanent residents and 3 RV dealer/repair facilities. So, of the 8 campground listings, 4 are not campgrounds.
Looks to me like they've deserted us. I think I'll continue my trip plans on the 2011 version.

I use the DeLorme mapping. I like the fuel and rest stop options. Put in how long you want to travel per day, fuel tank size and MPG and it guesses where your fuel and night stops are. Only real tricky item is inserting VIAs. Put in starting and ending points and it will route your there. If you want to put a stop or alter the route you can insert the VIA. Fighues mileage and total driving time.

Google Maps will do exactly what you are looking for - and for free. There is also free software called Tyre that uses Google Maps and will then let you transfer your route to a Garmin or TomTom GPS. Just be aware that none of the mapping software will take into account that you are in an RV with height restrictions or road restrictions. You need to be aware of what roads and routes you cannot take and tweak the route the software gives you by placing way points on roads that will take you around problem roads.
