Does anyone have a real world curb weight for a 2006 Chev 3500 DRW ? Either loaded with fuel and family or completely empty. I know these trucks are lighter than the Dodge but want to see how much over i will be with a big toy hauler.

The gross weight is on the door sticker.

Your best bet for the "loaded" is to go and weigh it.

It will vary, there are/were three of us with 05 duallys, one empty was 7200, mine at 7300, another at 7600. One a reasonably stripped 2wd, mine a mid level 4wd, the heaviest a leather pkg.

Generally speaking, about 3500-4000 lbs of payload to the gvwr, another 1500 or so until you hit the axel wt ratings.

Don't assume a scale weight from Joe Smiths same truck will be anywhere close to your trucks actual gross axle weights.

What you need is your trucks seperate front and rear axle weights. That way you know how much pin weight is sitting on the trucks rear axle/tires.
A single scaled gross weight won't give you that info.

As news says its time to weight the rig so you know exactly what your looking at.

I don't have the truck. It will be over GVW but not quite sure how much. Most likely in the 600-800 lb range. I found a real weight thread and it seems like this truck is in the range of 7300-7500 range empty. Curb is advertised as 6600lbs so i think the 73-7500lb range is reasonable.

My '05 crew cab dually 4 x 4 diesel Chevy has an aluminum flat bed with tool boxes and tools. Like that it weighs 8,500. That makes me think your 7500 range is reasonable. I had a reg cab '07 long bed 4 x 4 diesel that weighed 6,800 full of fuel and a 200 pound driver.

If the truck is a 4x4 it should be 12000 GVWR because of the E tires. 2wd came with D tires and 11400 GVWR.
