My generator used to run my Microwave/convection oven but now it will not. The two lights dimly blink erratically but that is it. Any suggestions to try? Works fine when plugged in to AC power. Thanks. gk

I might ask what elevation you are parked at. only thing that comes to mind is all genny's loose a percentage of power for every 1000 ft up you go.

Try plugging it in directly rather than through the system. You may have your inverter running, and hot water heater too? Air conditioner?

What kind of genset? If its a Quiet Diesel, you probably have a clogged fuel filter.

You need to check the APU voltage(122 to 132 is spec) AND frequency (60 Htz) The Frequency is critical for some electronic appliances. Depending on the APU, speed governs voltage and Frequency. 1800 RPMs for a gas model. Doug

Did I miss something? What brand and capacity generator? If it's a 4kw you have a problem. If it's a 1kw you may have marginal capacity.

Thanks for everyone's input. What a great site. My generator is an Onan 5K Emerald Aire with 48 hours on it. After reading the posts I went out and started the generator and the microwave/convection oven worked. We are in Seattle at sea level. when we were traveling we were in the Siskyou mountains at about 3,000 to 4,000 feet altitude. I had nothing else on that would draw any power off the generator. Could altitude make that much of a difference on a 5,000 watt generator? Could it be something else? Is there something else I should check? Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond to my problem. Gk
