My wife Nancy and I have been "campers" all through our youth, she with her family and I with the Boy Scouts, tent camping all over the northeast and southeast. We married in 1987 (I was on my third RV by then, only the first wife), and she became exposed to the RV form of "camping", and really took to it. She chastises people who question our "roughing it in an RV" that she/we paid our dues with our youth experiences.
We recently started attending RV rallies we learned about through this forum. Our first was the Northeast Spring Rally 2004 at
Oak Haven Campground, Wales MA. What a great experience.
I went solo to the
Danforth Bay Resort Freedom NH Fall Rally that
Whistlin' Dixie organized, and again had a memorable experience. People are still "buzzing" about that rally!
Now, as one of the committee of four organizing the
Northeast Spring Rally 2005 at
Deer Run RV Resort in Schaghticoke NY (near Albany), I find that it is challenging, but hopefully a very rewarding effort for all involved.
I hope you find the time to attend a member supported RV.Net rally in your area, you won't be disappointed.
