RE: has anyone installed the Camco water heater coversion kit

. . .I built a T for mine so that I could have BOTH the heating element & sacrificial anode in my water heater; works GREAT as long as you are plugged in. . .I USUALLY boondock / hit areas without electricity available, but, when I am plugged in it works as advertised. . .Also, the water heater mfg. would have to prove it caused the failure of the tank, and, how many times have you heard "the water heater failed" on a well kept RV???

RE: Generator fuel additives.. yeah or nay

. . .I have been using / recommending (professionally) StaBil for over 40 years; have it in ALL things that sit for over 30 days. ARCO is one of the WORST fuels one can purchase ( it has ethanol & methanol & maintenance goes up while MPG goes down )( a FALSE savings based on price ). . .IF, you are able to get Avgas ( aviation fuel) it has stabilizers, high octane & lead additives to enhance your experience. ..Just DO NOT use Avgas if catalytic on board. . .

RE: 89 Fleetwood Southwind Radiator Removal

. . .IF you plan on keeping the RV, I would HIGHLY!! recommend changing the radiator / heater hoses ( & fuel hose to prevent possible engine compartment fire - COMMOM PROBLEM in older RV's), T-Stat & water pump! Why??? Because it is easy to do while radiator is out ( and if those parts have not been changed, they are due ) & Very difficult when radiator is in place. I've done 50+ like this in my lifetime & only had 1 person fail to see the logic. . .New is not available for this, only a new core at a GOOD radiator shop hopefully. . .

RE: How to mount a flat screen tv outside

. . .My only hope is that you do not interfere with other people; those that wish to get away from TV, Phones, Traffic, Lights & Noise. I for one enjoy the quiet of a conversation around a campfire or looking at stars while enjoying the quiet the forest offers. . Have had people fire up LOUD generators & listen to LOUD TV's / Stereo's after 9PM ( even until sunrise ). . Well, disturbing & inconsiderate. . .MY OPINION. .

RE: New chocks and new leveling boards ??

. . .Well I like the Cheap, cut to size & different thickness wood selection in my 5th wheel. . .I have 1", 2", 4" & 6" size wood / plywood boards I put under the landing gear, tires & rear jacks as needed when I boondock. Different thickness' helps level front to rear & side to side & they do not crack like the plastic leveling blocks I just pulled out of my RV ( & am going to give away ) . . .As a note to this I carry a LOT of them; if you find yourself on an unlevel spot they can get used up rapidly, as has happened in the past. . .

RE: 2004 duramax water temp

. . .Just an opinion, but maybe your great truck is STARTING to tell you something, before you get into more major problems. Vehicles get old & with that comes maintenance & repairs ( look in the mirror to verify that ). . .Cooling systems on the newer aluminum radiators often plug up on the airflow side, less frequently on the waterflow inside; this is a real problem anytime after about 100K - 150K miles ( Just a reminder but as you probably are aware, also your tranny cooler, A/C condenser & CAC (( Charge Air Cooler )) are also becoming airflow restricted!!! ). Coolant is alkaline when new but with heat & galvanic corrosion it becomes acidic & corrosive - NOT good. Thermostats actually are constantly moving & do wear out OR become out of range as per factory parameters. . . If you are fortunate enough to have a GOOD Radiator Repair Facility near, it might be time to visit them. . . As for me, when I am back from my current trip, I plan on having the radiator pulled & cleaned, the block high pressure flushed ( to get ALL old antifreeze out) & BOTH T-Stats changed along with adding a can of antirust to a 65%+ solution of antifreeze ( why 65%+??? Well it is real simple; one cannot get all the old unknown fluid out of the engine unless one either take the motor out or starts with a fresh engine ). I'll also change my hoses & belt at this time( I'll have around 100K miles when I do this ).. . .I'd rather do all this when I am able to do so when it is convenient for me; it is NOT convenient to have a breakdown on an extended trip!!! Just my opinion (educated). . .

RE: 2006 DMAX

. . If prior owner has done MODS I would say it is time to keep looking; these guys who try turning their truck into a race car wind up screwing up a lot of things & the end result is LOTS of problems. I purchased an LBZ that was STOCK & it has been virtually trouble free for 40,000 miles which includes lots of towing a 30; 5th wheel out to the desert & the Sierra's. . .

RE: Algodones Dental Experience

.. .. GalPal & I had 12 cavities filled & teeth cleaned in Tuguegarao, Philippines. . .$250. Modern equipment & some training in USA for implants; Would I go again??? Absolutely!!!! Would I go to Algadones; Absolutely!!!!! The USA does not have the corner on modern medicine; but we sure have the high prices cornered. . . Medicines in foreign countries are still manufactured by Pfizer, Galaxo Smith Kline, Etc. but they do not have to deal with malpractice lawsuits so they are MUCH less expensive!!!
