RE: The Emotions in a TC

I also feel the same, the giddiness of being able to go for weeks on end without needing to stay in a crowded CG, and doing it only by choice. heck we will throw ours on and just drive to the back of our farm for a weekend, " I have the thing where I can't sit still when I can see jobs that need doing" so I have to get away from home/farm. I can dream of the day when we can meander out west where there are lots of BLML and lots of places to boondock in the mountains. with the way my retirement fund is going I need to be able to travel on a low budget.

RE: Inside Shower vs Outside Shower

Has anybody ever had a( camp host ) at state park CG's ever say anything about the water on the ground ? ? ? I have considered doing a pop-up stall and use ours, but fear a confrontation, " I don't do well with confrontation sometimes". in my mind it's gray water and could be a problem with a camp host on a power trip. I don't see anything wrong with it, but some don't see thing like I do.

RE: Never again

I love to see kids play and run "have two kids and one grandchild, and I have three dogs, so I love dogs, but I only can stand the super loud rude adults for so long. the last time I stayed at a state park CG on a holiday I had ear plugs and a fan by my head, it won't happen again, that's why I camp in our back pasture on holidays, if you listen really hard you can hear a faint car in the distance every once in a while. public camping is not what it used to be for me, I don't know if the people are worse, or I have just gotten so darned intolerant, this is one of the reasons I have a TC, it is very easy to boondock.

RE: Memorial Day weekend, where will you be?

we will be in the back pasture, very quiet, no drunks, barking dogs, loud music, ......just the frogs, birds, crickets, and a crackling fire, oh and free camping.;) the only time we venture out on the holidays is when one falls I the middle of our trip.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

I got the floor done in the house, so I got it out and dewinterized it, checked out the water heater, pump, and started getting ready to "CAMP" it seems like a long time ago that we went last. we are going to the back pasture this weekend.

RE: Shanandoah Valley, VA

back some years ago I drove a 28ft class C from Cherokee to Roanoke and then got off, because I thought I was gonna blow up the little 350 chevy. but we done the entire BRPW and Shenandoah in 2011 and my camper is 12ft 3in. with no problems

RE: Tioga Opening

Good news for those of us east of Yosemite. Bad new for me as I'm 2000 miles east. :S X2.. i'm right there with ya brother... I hate the fact it takes me over a two day drive to get to the parks out west.

RE: A month in the great northwest. What would you do?

Mount Rainier...my favorite spot ever, with Yosemite a close 2nd, the Columbia river valley is something to behold, the rain forests of Olympic N.P. are a must while your that close.

RE: Must See Suggestions: St. Louis, MO to Sioux Falls, SD

On a trip we took in 2002 we were on the long drive across S.D., we saw a sign with (tractor museum) so we had to stop, what an interesting rest stop it was, they have old tractors, cars, horse drawn equipment, old one room school, and lots of other stuff. for sure a nice break from the steering wheel for a couple hours. I90 Kimball S.D. ex284 and of course Cabelas outdoor store in Mitchel, it's huge.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

fixed my leaky bathroom faucets in my lance one piece bathroom by going through the onboard outside battery box, very simple and easy.

RE: Where are all the Truck Campers ?

I think the big reason you don't see many is that most camping folks think alike, and they haven't tried one on for size, for those of us that have tried everything know to man to camp in, almost all of us have went back to or stayed with the TC, we can go anywhere we want, and if you already need a bigger truck it's the most logical and economical. we all know we can buy a new TT for what we paid for a used TC, we just choose to go this way.

RE: cover for flooring in camper

We had a fitted carpet in our Lance and that will not work for hikers/kayakers, I took it out and rolled it up for safe keeping. I then installed the sticky backed vinyl look alike wood flooring, it looks great and now we have a long runner rug that catches anything we track in, but we also take off our boots outside and carry them in and set them in the shower.

RE: Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, MO

I imagine you have been the The Buffalo river CG's , that is an awesome place, also I second Sam A Baker S.P. so relaxing and quiet threw the week, but like all river S.P.'s the weekends can get crowded in the school summer vacation months. Dar
