RE: Two things we notice

...and would You believe that they even moved the Fire Pit several Feet from where They were dug into the ground. Just did that the last time out. Had I left the fire pit where it was my awning would have been partially over the fire pit. I was parked as far to the opposite side of the site as I could and there was plenty of room toward the other side. I was going to have a fire and it was not going to be under my awning. ;)

RE: Do Hosts Do This?

How polite is it to call those who believe the host has a duty to warn campers of impending danger "Fools". He did not. He called those who are not prepared and NEED the warning fools.

RE: Do Hosts Do This?

Talk about jumping to conclusions! The OP never stated he was upset (asking if something is done elsewhere is NOT stating one is upset about it). Then he reiterated that he was not upset at being woken or warned, ONLY that he wakes up grump (so do I). THAT'S it. It's not his fault that many posting in this tread jumped to a conclusion. :R ...I appreciated it...

RE: Camping pet peeve

If ciggy smoke makes you as sick as you say (yet somwehow campfire smoke does not), it is your personal responsibility to protect yourself. There are plenty of smoke-free CG out there. I've never heard of such a place. I'd think in they would be most likely to exist in CA, but I've never seen nor heard of one.

Running out of cold beer. When my wife brings the beer she likes instead of the ones I like!

RE: "LISENCE"

Not rumor. I would jump on getting the non-commercial B or A license because in a wreck, the insurance company will not honor any claims, and the other party can allege gross negligence for not having the qualifications to operate the motor vehicle. They still have to honor your claim even if you do not have a license. They can drop your coverage for not having the proper license, but they must do that first.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

In fact my wife lost her card and I didn't even report it because the thief was spending less than she had been spending. :E ROTFLMAO! I resemble that remark!

RE: hitch blocked by another trailer

...I would knock on doors, and after exhausting that, I would call the police. And what would you say to them? That someone blocked your TT and can they help you out? No need to suggest what it is that they might do. Just ask for help. The police can do more than arrest people and have vehicles towed.

RE: Why do your kids keep yelling at our dogs?

We recently had a young girl walk through our camp site between the fire pit and the awning (in other words, close to the RV). My wife and myself both commented that is the "worse" violation we have seen. Our response, make sure our daughter knew not to walk through someone else's camp site. When I hear kids yelling, laughing and otherwise playing loudly I smile. I'm glad they are having such a good time. On this same trip I stopped and put a bike chain back on a young boys bike, explained to him that it was too loose and told him how to tighten it so it didn't come off again. When I see others having a good time it makes me happy, even if they are loud. If I wanted quite, I would boondock.

Minimum wage certainly use to buy much more gas. When it was $3.25 gas was just under $1 (around here). Now minimum wage is $8 and gas is just under $4. 3 1/4 gallons versus 2.1 gallons now.

RE: Does your insect repellant work?

Try it for yourself before putting it down. WoodGlue I have, but only about 10 or so outings (I HATE putting on anything oily). Did not work at all.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

if it says "Replacement Cost Personal Effects Coverage" up front on the first page, and the $500 limit is hidden on page 35, then it seems to me that they are trying to mislead the buyer. They most certainly are. Everyone can decide for themselves if that is a scam or not, but they absolutely are expecting you to not read the details on page 35. They DEFINITELY KNOW that MOST people do no. I'd call it a scam, but everyone can decide that for themselves.

RE: Mosquitos!

Thermacell is what has worked for us. Mothers-day weekend I didn't get the refill pack (I was out) and now I know how effective they are! The thermacell has always worked there before. I won't make that mistake again. Citronella didn't do anything (had 4 large torches and 4 small ones and I could hardly tell the difference). Because of that I discovered that the dry off at least isn't oily or smelly, and works okay.

It's nice to see that you are finally getting the attention you deserved, if a little later than it should have been.

I paid $2.75 in Vallejo on Thursday. But, that was with a $1 off from Safeway. ;)

RE: Cigarette Stench

Febreze works fairly well, but requires several/many applications. Not sure how well it would work on hard surfaces, but it might be worth a try.

RE: Better Than Wood Blocks!

That doesn't look like a problem for lynx levelers to me. They don't have any problem holding up my MH when I need more lift than in your picture. :D

RE: Better Than Wood Blocks!

Have you broken one of the orange lynx levelers? My experience is that anything that would break one of those would also break wooden boards. The yellow ones break easily.
