RE: WY to SD on route 16

We did it a couple years ago in a 37' MH with toad...No problem just watch out for the inordinate population of Deer. I couldnt believe how many I saw both live and not so live.

RE: For all U Metal Detector guys....just a little help

Not sure about their prices but KellyCo(?) is a good place to preview many, many makes and models of detectors. (KellyCoDetectors.com)

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

"Absolutes" ...thats a good term except it applies to those of you that have never come across a well behaved dog, you complain as if Every single pet owner you have ever encountered is a Problem. Im curious, whats the percentage of good vs bad for those of you that seem to have such an issue with pet owners....I mean is it like 90/10, 80/20? (of course the higher number is the bad, right? As to my own experiences as previously mentioned, Ive heard dogs bark in a CG, Ive seen the "gift's" left behind by some dog owners but the big difference is, I dont lump all these bad apples with the majority of the good responsible dog owners. In reality, it all comes down to Tolerance.....some dont have it when it comes to dogs as Im sure they dont have it with many aspects of Life but thats there problem. Anyways....carry on, I dont think anyones mind has changed with all this bittering so with that being said, Ill step aside and let it go until the next "dog bashing" thread starts. No hard feeling's my fellow RV'ers..its all in Fun. :B

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

No point in arguing about this....the responsible dog owners(the majority) are going to continue doing what they have done in the past and those of you who Just Cant stand to have someone with a dog in a campground, will just have to continue being miserable. I feel for ya.....but its a Big Country and maybe we can avoid one another, from my lips to God's ear's.

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

"Self Centered" ....how very swallow one can be not to have a caring bone in your body. Sorry to break it to ya....the majority of Dog owners are responsible, they do care about keeping the dogs quiet, picking up after them and having them on a leash at all times. Some of us even take it a step further to actively engage in conversation with our neighbors to be sure there are no problems. I use to think the majority of campers/RV'ers were Happy go lucky too but your living proof that Im wrong. As stated, Ive had my dogs in many campgrounds and will say again, the General conception of the Rule we speak of deals with leaving your Dog outside, tied up to your RV/Picnic table. Once again...its the common meaning of the phrase "unattented" otherwise I guess every single Dog owner is a "Rebel". Those of you who prejustice and stereo-type each and every dog owner is living in a fantasy world......Self Centered....my Gawd!!! Take a chill pill "Sleeping Beauty".

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

unattended means just that. don't leave your dog alone in the RV with no body to attend to him/her. :s bumpy Wrong again!!!:h Whats wrong with that statement. It's plain English and means EXACTLY what it says. To make it even more clear, here's a definition: Adjective: 1. Not noticed or dealt with: "her behavior went unnoticed and unattended to". 2. Not supervised or looked after: "it is not acceptable for parents to leave children unattended at that age". The generalized interreptation of the Rule in question concerns leaving a Dog outside unattented. No matter how the dog haters try to re-interrupt the meaning, changes NOTHING. You can or anyone here can say its my way or the highway...that doesnt make it so. You speak of behavior as if there is some behavior to be upset at...what if there is No such behavior to be pissed at and the only issue is the fact someone else has a Dog(thats the Norm rather than the exception). The responders here that make such an issue of "pets" in general dont give a Rats Azz about anything but themselves....the only good dog is the one thats left at home and to that I say you can all Kiss my.....fill in the blank! By the way, my dogs are OLD enough to be left unattented in my RV!!!

RE: Dogs welcome in Yellowstone??

Just a quick bit of info....while Yellowstone in general is not Pet friendly, you can bring them down to Old Faithful, they have a big open dirt area behind the broadwalk...I always keep mine off the Broadwalk but Ive seen plenty of others sitting with their dogs watching the geyser errupt.

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

WOW.....All you Hollier-than-thou responders amase me! If you dont like Dogs/Pets, I suggest you get out of RV'ing because there are estimates as high as 50+ percent(probably more) that travel with "Fido". As for some of you Smart Azz's....Yes, I do ask my neighbors whether my dogs have been a problem(to a fault, most say they didnt even know they were there in the RV). I take responsibility for my pets as I KNOW most RV'ers do....the perception that all dogs bark when left alone is so far from reality that its not worth commenting about. Its only those that cant stand the thought of someone bringing their pet to THEIR campground(how dare you) do such a thing....It seems some of you have been on the road Toooo long and you are so intent on having things your way, that there is NO room for anyone else's idea of Fun and relaxation! Ive had dogs and Camped/RV'ed my entire adult life and Ive never had issue one with someone else's dogs..NEVER and Ive Never been scoulded for my Dogs behavior....I honestly believe that those here that have no patience, no sense of give and take are so wrapped up in there own little world, the fact that you even have a Dog at all is enough to set them off. Trust me, its always some on the same people on these threads that take such offense to anything Dog related. With all this being said, the common meaning of "not leaving pets unattended" is meant to mean "outside" and we all know this. I love these Dog threads....Dogs are a part of RV'ing, so get over it! Oh....now have a Good Day :B

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

As a Dog person, Ive seen this restriction only one time and it was spelled out, "Do not leave your pets unattented inside or outside of your RV". Most CG's will say, "dont leave pets unattented" which in MOST cases means tied up outside. I tend to agree that if my dogs are behaving, there in my RV and I have all my normal precautions for heat/power in place, then its no ones business whats going on inside the MH.

RE: Rear-end lube change

Different strokes, but if I were changing the diffy oil and the diff had a removable pan, I would take it off. All the bad stuff, if any, will be on the bottom. I like that idea but if Im not mistaken....its a sealed unit, of course I could be wrong cause when I crawl under there's so much to look at and look for but Ill do exactly what you suggest if at all possible.

RE: Rear-end lube change

Thanks all.....I used that 5 gallon estimate from another forum talking about the fluid change. Ill dig out my paperwork before the actual purchase and/or drain it first to see the approx amount that comes out. Hey Fred, good idea on the drill pump....I had read someplace else about using that exact method for draining the Hydraulic resevoir(think it was an old video from Brett Wolff)....thats another project.

Rear-end lube change

Getting ready to do a differential fluid change and Im going to go with a synthetic probably a 75/80-140w fluid. After checking out some prices(DIY)....seems Royal Purple is roughly twice as much as Castrol. I dont mind the price difference so much but just wondering about the price vs quality? Are you really getting twice the product(quality)? and with 5 gallons, it adds up? I dont do this often, so Im not up to date on these things? Opinions/comments? Thank You..... In case your wondering it s Vogue MH with a 10.3 litre 3176 engine and a (dont have my notes handy for rear end specifics).

RE: SoCal Rally April 11 - 13, 2014

Thanks Cliff, Ill look forward to your suggestions. I wasnt sure on the route but if you say the 99, sounds good to me plus I can stop by my brothers in Bakersfield and get some New-used 6 volt batteries for the MH. Im going to head over to Lake Tahoe afterwards and the Ponderosa idea just made sense but if you think one of those other places are more interesting/scenic/nicer, I can always change my reservations. I called them at Ponderosa asking about how crowded they may be in June/July(crystal ball type of question) but with the heat, I was hoping to snag a 50 amp site....Ill just keep my fingers crossed(I can do without the sewer hook-up). Thanks again !!!! :B

RE: Dumping air when parked

I have to agree about NOT lifting rear wheels off the ground....Im sure you might be OK in a relatively level site but if there's much of an incline, you will roll right off them. Dont ask how I know! :)

RE: dual road side assistance

I have two....one with Progressive Insurance and the other with AAA and as it turns out, the one time I needed a mobile tire company to replace a blowout, AAA came through.

RE: Surge Guard Universal Lock ??

I do use the Surge Guard lock but I realize someone could drag off the whole 50 amp cord and Surge Guard although it might look a tad more obvious with someone walking off with it! I also lock the pedestal with a cable/chain lock or padlock on the pedestal loop, if so supplied.

RE: Dumping air when parked

Am I the only one who has this problem? If I dump my air first, then my swing down jacks dont clear the ground so I always get my jacks to swing down(not actually contacting the ground) then dump the air and then level so that I know the jacks are solid on their pads. I would have to say your one of few for sure.Thats a really old oddball motorhome and not many DPMH had swing down jacks(good thing) Odd Ball....maybe but one of the most expensive odd balls of its day and Im sure they accessorized it with the latest gadgets available. Try looking up Vogue? and by the way, still going strong 17 years later so I guess I can handle the swing down jacks :B
