RE: Picking out Full Timers

Look for South Dakota, Montana, Florida or Texas plates. Seems like most full timers register in these states. We use South Dakota.

RE: Winter in texas

We are in Kerrville, Tx now. It is in the Hill country north west of San Antonio. Really nice area. Temps have been in the upper 70's so far. People are so nice. No bugs like Florida and prices here are far more reasonable too!
Good luck.

Anyone Buying a New Motorhome?

Wondering if anyone is going to buy a new one this year or just did buy one? If you did, how was the process with the market the way it is? Anyone trading one in and how did that go?
Finally, anyone going for a new Monaco or HR from the new Monaco?

RE: 08 Monaco advice

I have a 2008 Knight. It has been a great machine. Some problerms here and there. Did buy it in 2007, so had warrenty to fix items at the factory.
Many of the components are covered by warrenty of the repsective manufacturer. Engine and trans covered.0 etc.
Might be a better deal to get a new one than a used one for the same price.
Good luck.

RE: Who going to Florida or South This Winter?

Heading for Texas this winter. Did Florida last year. Not the biggest fan.
Will go to Kerrville near San Antonio and will stay at The Buckhorn RV park for 3 months or so. May then head to New Mexico and other parts of Texas.

RE: Best Portable Heater for MH

thanks to all with your recommendations. Just bought a Polonis ceramic disc heater. Turns out a friend in the park has one and loves it. So will give it a try.
Thanks again.

Best Portable Heater for MH

I am going to buy another electric heater to use. Had one for some time but it kept tripping circuit breaker.
I know I need to manage what I sue at the same time.
What units are you all using? Want to use it in colder weather. We are full timers and use the rig in the winter (Texas).
Thanks.

Ceiling Vent Insulation

I friend just bought a foam block shaped insulation that fits in the ceiling where the vent and fan is. Does this help with the cold and heat? Anyone use one?
Thanks.

Electric Sun Shade in 08 Monaco not working

Hi.
I have an 08 Monaco knight with 2 electric front sun shades. The passenger side is not working right. I use the power switch to move it down and the shade moves down about an inch and stops. Push it again the same thing. When I push to bring it up it comes up in one go.
What is wrong? Is there an adjustment needed? I have 2 passenger switches for this shade. Both work in the same manner.

RE: Exhaust/Engine brake question

I leave it on all the time. Helps to stop a big rig much better than relying only on the chassis brakes.

RE: Questions About Diesel MH

Don't think the exhaust breaks turn on brake lights. Never heard about the 40%. Mine does not seem to work that way.
Good luck.

Monaco Dealer Update

I spoke to a service person at my dealer and he told me that they are thinking about not carrying the new Monaco's. He understands that the banks will not provide money to floor the new units. Something about Monaco not guarantying to buy back the units if they don't sell. The dealer is not the problem.
Has anyone heard anything like this from your dealer or any other dealer selling Monaco/Holiday Rambler?

RE: Cummins Oil Change Question

I just received an email from the service rep at a Cummins store in Maine and he indicated he thought I would not have a problem with the miles and the time. To go ahead and wait until I get to Texas. I plan on keeping his email.

Cummins Oil Change Question

HI All!
I have an 08 Knight. Had the first oil change at the factory in June of last year. Had 11,000 miles on the engine. Have 15,000 now. Should I have it changed again or can I wait until I get to Texas this November? I expect to have 6,000 miles if I wait.
Stopped by a Cummins dealer and he indicated he thought I could wait. Miles will be under the 15,000 limit but the time will be a year and 5 months.
What do you all think? Can I wait until Texas where at the park we will be at in Kerrville, TX they offer service right at the camp site.
