RE: Cummins Oil Change Question

I just received an email from the service rep at a Cummins store in Maine and he indicated he thought I would not have a problem with the miles and the time. To go ahead and wait until I get to Texas. I plan on keeping his email. Steve__

Cummins Oil Change Question

HI All! I have an 08 Knight. Had the first oil change at the factory in June of last year. Had 11,000 miles on the engine. Have 15,000 now. Should I have it changed again or can I wait until I get to Texas this November? I expect to have 6,000 miles if I wait. Stopped by a Cummins dealer and he indicated he thought I could wait. Miles will be under the 15,000 limit but the time will be a year and 5 months. What do you all think? Can I wait until Texas where at the park we will be at in Kerrville, TX they offer service right at the camp site. Steve__

Monaco Cabinet Hinges

Have an 08 Knight and one of the cabinet doors has broken. The wooden door is fine. It is the hinges that have broken. Should I try to get 2 from the Monaco factory or my dealer? I am in Maine and my dealer is in California (DeMartini). Not sure if I can buy directly from the manuf. yet. Steve__

RE: Fork dropped into blackwater tank

I talked to the park owner that runs the pump. He did not seem concerned about any damage to his pump. We will see. Steve__

RE: Fork dropped into blackwater tank

thanks for all of the great ideas. I really like the one about getting a kid with small hands and long arms. Great idea! I am not interested in getting it to use it again. I am just concerned about it getting stuck and blocking the hole. Steve__

Fork dropped into blackwater tank

We are camping in a park in Maine that does not have sewer at each site. So, my wife tried to balance out the water and pours some of the dish washing water into the black tank. A fork was dropped in by mistake. So what are the chances it will come out ok when we drain the tank? Any suggestions? The park has a mobile service that comes by twice a week to pump out the tank. So it will have a go at it on Thursday. We will see what happens. Steve__

Airing Up tires

I have a question about airing up tires. How many of you use the air connection in your motorhome to air up yor tires? Seems like a better way to go than carrying around a pump. Wondering about air pressure. I have 22.5 inche tires under a 38 foot Moanco kinght. I run 95 in the front and 90 in the back. Wondering what other people are using in their rigs? I know weight is an issue. Steve__

RE: 2008 38 ft Monaco Knight

I have a 2008 Knight. Have owned it for 2 years and it drives great. We are full timers and live in it. It has been a good coach. Difference in driving from a gas coach is like day and night. The 8 air bag system is great. Same chassis as higher end rigs made by Monaco. Good luck. Steve__

Want to buy air hose for MH

I want to purchase an air hose for my MH. I am tired of trying to find places that have air that works. Not really interested in carrying around an air pump because we are full timers and are short on space. I have a pusher that has a fitting in the front I can tie in too. Any suggestions on where to get a hose? Which brand is best and estimated prices? Thanks

RE: DP engine sound not right!

As a follow up, I did leave but had the same sounds again. We were close to a Cummins dealer in Maine, so I asked to stop by. No sounds when we got there. However, they did crawl under and took a look and could not see a problem. they thought it might have been related to the belt with a bit of a shiny area. Told me not to worry and I drive on up for another 3 hours. No issue when we arrived. Steve__

RE: DP engine sound not right!

Started up the rig yesterday and none of the sounds I heard are there. I did hose off the radiator and hosed off the fan and belt. Leaving today for another trip, so will see how it goes. Steve__

RE: tiffin or monaco

Joe and Fran Tara our toy poodle A teamster for 38 years NO! I had an Allegro and got rid of it after one year. Nothing but problems. I know Tiffin has great support. I want a rig that doesn't need the support. Steve__
