RE: Monarch of the Glen

You would thoroughly enjoy "Ballykissangel" and then absolutely nothing can beat "As Time Goes By"

A engaging movie

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel had a great line...The only advantage to being old is that you are the first one sent off the plane in the event of a hostage situation.

RE: Bodie Ghost Town

Perhaps not convenient geographically, but Leadville, Colorado offers a truly authentic 19th century town constructed of many original buildings that housed general store, saloon, dentist, school house, masonic temple, stable, doctor, private main street residences and much more.

RE: used vans in florida?

Just a thought. Google PPL in Houston and peruse their current inventory. You will be pleasantly surprised. Perhaps fly to Houston, pick up your selected beauty and off you go.

RE: Roadtrek or Pleasure-way?

Slightly askew to topic but when you compare the American Cruiser floor plan, not to mention quality, you will be astonished. The rear entry in this notable Class B afords you with a full size couch, dinette table w/seating and an enclosed spacious shower/bathroom. Apologies, but I so truly love what this coach delivers that I had to weigh in.

RE: 79 years ago First Drive-In Movie opens in New Jersey

Ah, the joys of the Rt 46 drive-in Totowa, New Jersey Summer of 1957 in my '49 Pontiac Chieftain coupe with Maryann. Such youthful bliss. She passed away in 2010 and that Summer's memories..and many others..warm me to this day.

American Cruiser

I see that many Class B posters enjoy the considerable features of the American Cruiser with it's innovative rear entry and spacious enclosed head/shower. How many of us are out there?

RE: first trip...hook-ups are a pain!

Simple solution followed by many Class B travelers...Don't hookup! If you need... electric connection only. Just because you have sewer and water connections should not mean that they must be connected. After all, one of the considerable joys of a Class B coach is the ability to sightsee locally by a simple electris disconnect and off you go, returning whern you wish with again, a simple electric cconnect and nothing else.

RE: Class B touring

Ah! The magic of a Class B. Drives and parks anywhere you can use a car even a metered city street parking spot. No more missing interesting roadside attractions because of park spoace limitations. As for sightseeing when in a campground, just unplug and easily stow cord (remember it is a shorter, lighter more maneageable 30 amp cord and not the 50 amp monster used by Class A coaches. Our last coach was a 40' Gulfstream Tourmaster pulling a toad and now, having seen the light, will never suffer like that again!

RE: What is your favorite pass in Colorado?

Estes Natl Park...in one end, up over the pass...13,000' elevation, above the tree line...and down the other. Lunch at the "Bald Pate Inn" near the top. Beyond breathtaking! Many elk at roadside for great photos. Views all the way to tomorrow. My thought though...probably limited to Class B or smaller Class C. Definitely not an A. Not so much the grade but too tight turns near the top.

Google American Cruiser...you will be astonished at the floor plan vis a vis Roadtrek, Pleasure Way, Leisure Travel, Coach House. Rear entry vs side entry makes all the difference.

RE: Hatfield & McCoys

Colossal irony...patriarcs and violence catalysts of both families, Randall McCoy and Anse Hatfield lived to their old age. Although, given the heartrending losses of their young family members perhaps that was a just punishment.

RE: Kayak Rack for a Roadtrek

There is a considerable difference between drifting around in an inflatable boat and kayaking. In my "expert" opinion, 40 years kayaking, member of two active clubs, two circumnavigations of Florida, and on the water, gulf and river ebery week. I have researched and experimented with all of the various inflatable manufacturers and Advanced Elements was my choice. Can be purchased on Ebay, about $425.00 for a single as seen in the photo and about $625.00 for a double. If you plan to enjoy open water, don't forget to include the spray skirt option. To be sure, there are a few other possible choices but now you are talking thousands.

RE: ice cream security

Didja ever notice that Ben&Jerry's vanilla, chocolate and strawberry disappear from the markets freezer within 30 minutes of delivery and the more "exotic"flavor concoctions remain for days and days? Take note Ben..Take note Jerry..return to your very sucessful roots..oh, wait a minute..now owned by a bunch of investor whizzes who know everything!! Hmmm!
