RE: things to do in Austin

We saw the bats. We also toured the state capital and grounds. Both free and worth the time. X2 for the bats, very impressive.

RE: Which route would take, Knoxville to Destin?

Appreciate all the replies. I just hate going I-59. Seems they have been working this route forever with no good results.

Which route would take, Knoxville to Destin?

Knoxville TN to Atlanta GA on 75, 85 to Montgomery AL and 331 to Destin FL. -Or- Knoxville TN to Chatannooga TN on 75, 59 to Birminghan AL, 26 to Montgomery AL and 331 to Destin FL. Conditions will be diesel pulling a 37' Toy Hauler traveling after 10:00 on a Saterday. Trip looks to be about 50 more miles thru Atlanta but Rt 59 to Birmingham just plain sucks.

RE: What's the most unexpected thing seen around the campfire ?

Last July 4'th, campground near Crossville Tn. A couple from Kentucky pulled in next to us in a small 18' TT. Real nice couple, had a hard time backing in but finally got it all set-up. He was 6' something and bald, she was 5'. Grilling with a beer in my hand later I noticed our tall male neighbor standing at the back of the TT with a mixed drink in his hand. Pretty normal except he had on a long flowing dress with flowers on it, a brown wig, makeup and high heels. Being in shock I said hello and went to get the wife. Came back out to find him sitting in a camp chair at their campfire. This has to be the strangest sight in 30yrs.

RE: Tonneau cover and 5th wheel?

I have the Ford installed roll up cover, we just roll it all the way up when towing and then roll it over the bed when not. When it covers the bed it cannot be rolled up unless you lower the tail gate first so it is lockable. I'm quite happy with it so far. X2

RE: Anyone using a TT wall-mounted outdoor BBQ?

Have one we got with our first TT. Used once, did not like. Turned the bracket into a outside shelf with the addition of a cutting board. Still have the RVQ in the back garage, would gladly give it to someone. Tried to sell at a yard sale, no luck.

RE: Ramp Patio Use

Have this on my Cyclone. Use it all the times. Great place to get away. Has a good view and seems to get more air than on the side. Grandchildren sleep in the Garage and with the screen down works great.

RE: Electric awning and tie down

Can your awning be lowered or tilted on one side or the other. We have an electric awning that can not be adjusted. It is either straight out or rolled up. Can't leave it out with any rain since the water will pool in the middle. I would rather have a manual awning anyday. X2

RE: Extreme heat from engine cover- inside cab

Had an old Dodge 440 that would literally crystallize the plug wires after a while. Would also melt the soles of my shoes on an extended trip. Never going back.

Ask them about the hotel / motel bedbug problem. Watch them scratch as you pull away.

RE: Learning to tow?

My Superduty doesn't have convex on the passenger side, except for the little spotters on the bottom, which are convex on both sides. And to that I have added C-Betrs. Those things are fantastic! C-Betrs? Where do we find these?

RE: pickup bed cover

Had the factory 5'th prep also, sprayed in bed liner and factory installed cover. Rolls out of way, velcro on sides and with tailgate locked a $&@(?) to get into.
