If they did, wouldn't the factory put them on?

RE: 2012 Strong Pick-up Sales Figures

RE: 2012 Strong Pick-up Sales Figures

FWIW, Tundra's USA sales for 2012 were up 22.6% over 2011.

RE: Towing With 2010 5.7 V-8 Double Cab?

The quick connect is not under the steering wheel. That is probably the OBDII connector. The brake connector is located under the dash on the left sidewall.

RE: Towing With 2010 5.7 V-8 Double Cab?

The tow package was an option on my 2012 DC. Check under the tach for a temp gauge. If there, it is trans temp gauge, and you have the tow pkg.
That price seems pretty high. You should be able to get a new one for that, what with the rebates and deals going on. Last time I looked, the rebate was $2500.

RE: Towing With 2010 5.7 V-8 Double Cab?

It is my understanding that when the manufacturers calculate payload, they include driver weight (180 lbs.) and a full tank of gas. If true, you would have an extra couple hundred lbs. to play with.

You should be OK. I am in similar circumstances and have no problem.

RE: Do-It-Yourself Battery Maintainer

I'm confused. What's wrong with using a cheap battery maintainer from Harbor Freight? I've been using one for years.

RE: How much towing requires the shorter oil change interval?

I always thought that the 3000 mile oil change was started by Jiffy Lube.

RE: How much towing requires the shorter oil change interval?

All 2012 Tundras use full synthetic oil, thus the 10,000 mile interval. It seems your dealer should honor the 5,000 mile interval for severe service. If not, try moving it up the ladder to Toyota.
I have a 2012 with 2,500 miles and am trying to decide what I should do. I haven't done any real towing yet.
I worked with a woman whose husband was a mechanic. He changed his oil every 1,000 miles. Go figure.
