RE: Tire changing ramp

I bought it but also have the equaflex suspension and it did not work for me. Gave it to my buddy and it works well for his travel trailer. It did not give me the lift I needed to get the tire off the ground. This one works just fine on my Cruiser with Equa-flex. Tire Change Ramp

RE: Maximum Grades on Colorado Mountain Passes

I'd like to see that 15% grade...not hauling my 5ver tho. It's a blast on the motorcycle!

RE: camper floor

As the floor is the very first thing laid on the frame during assembly it is nearly impossible to replace all of the flooring. In the units I've seen build, the walls set on the edge of the floor so if you want to replace all of it you have to virtually disassemble the camper. I did replace most of the flooring in an old class C several years ago. It took most of the winter and had to go down in sections. Covered it with carpet and it worked OK for the next 3 years we owned it. The idea of placing plywood over the existing flooring might work.

RE: NASCAR California

Stewart is completely out of line on this one! I have supported Tony in his "maturing" lately but he had a relapse.

RE: Leveling and chocks

The plastic blocks aren't much use on a gravel or dirt pad. They sink in and tilt. We've been using 2 X 10's for over 35 years and see no evidence to make me change. I have 2 pcs. 4ft., 4 pcs, about 2ft., and 2 pcs. of 1" X 10" to fine tune. 2 of the roto chocks.

RE: Adding Baggage Door to Slide out?

I don't know if it will be an issue, but slides that are designed to have the external door are framed for them. If you just cut a hole, you will be removing some of the supports leaving them unsupported by framing. Hopefully you wouldn't install a door or window in you home that way! Now if you can install a door between the supports without cutting them I don't see an issue.

RE: Talented electrical repair in So Cal?

Start pulling recepticals junction boxes and checking for loose wires. Best way I know. Make sure you aren't plugged into shore power or the genny is on when you are doing this. It should take about 5 minutes per fixture and costs nothing but time.

RE: Led tail lights

Is the polarity correct. A normal bulb will light regardless, LED's must be correct.

RE: do you need to grease kingpin

Listen for the creaking, groaning hitches on rigs moving through the campground. Those are the ones that don't use grease.

RE: Water leak at A/C

Take the inner cover off and snug down the 4 bolts that hold the unit to the roof. This will compress the gasket a little more and will stop the leak. Age and towing on rough roads cause this loosening.

RE: How do I know it is Hitched?

Then raise the front landing legs a inch or so and engage the trailer brakes and try to drive forward, also called "the drag test". :) If you do a pull test, and you should do it before raising the landing gear. IMHO this is a bad idea. You run a fair chance of bending the legs if there is still weight on them. I'm in the camp to raise them an inch or so. If it does come loose they will still catch the trailer before any damage to the trailer or truck. YMMV

RE: I 70 in April

I-80 to Lincoln, NE, US 2 to I-29. South to Kansas City then US 71 to Springfield, MO. Hit 65 south to Branson. All excellent roads but April can have some snow in the high country.

RE: Danica at Phoenix

Daytona is about horsepower and aerodynamics. Phoenix and others are about driving. Corner speed, brakes, and getting back on the gas. Drivers win at short tracks.

RE: Standalone tent/room at campsite

Last Memorial Day weekend at Rathbun Lake in Iowa you could have had your pick of probably 20 of these in the dumptster. Very early morning storm came through and tore the place up. Everyone had been up late partying and most didn't retract awnings or take the tents down. We saw at least 4 campers with the awning over the top and many, many screen rooms torn up. One EZ Up went through the rear window of an Escalade! They are fine to have but make sure you know the weather ahead!

RE: Tony Stewart

Since he has matured and learned to control his temper better he is becoming a class act. Don't get me wrong, I still love his passion for what he does!
