RE: TT interior decor

You should see what owners are doing to campers on FB. One of them shows lots of pictures with before and after. Some really good makeovers! Sharon

RE: Big Bend NP

We go during Thanksgiving nice weather. Then again never know what the weather will be like. Study Butte is the town we stay in with a FHU campground. Only about a mile from the west gate. No matter what place you stay it is a drive. Be sure to visit the hot springs and follow all the rules. I was in a parking lot when 4 park rangers ask to search a car next to ours. Someone had notice them picking up rocks (a big no). Sharon

RE: Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Many stay in Study Butt at the RV Park/hotel as we have, then move up to Davis Mts SP. You cannot see much in a days time in Big Bend National Park as 2gypsies have said. Need to take time seeing many of sites. We alone have stayed nearly a week traveling around the park. Remember it is time for spring break for many schools in TX during March and other states too. RE: Where did they go?

He is no longer on here. I have seen him on North Texas Camping Association or NTXCA Face Book. His first name is Charles, you will have to join to see his post or get in touch with him.

RE: Outside LED Strip Lights

I do the same as Dutchmensport in purchasing mine after the holidays. I have Christmas colored ones and white. We camp in places that I want light under the camper for mine & our dogs safety in other animals getting under the TT. I can also move them around to places needing light. Nearly had someone run in the back of the truck. They are set on a timer too. Sharon

RE: Camping with a high-energy dog

We have 4 terriers and 1 is a Jack Russell that is our grand dog. He is high energy, but my son & D-I-L trained him themselves and is well behaved as is the other 3. Go to a trainer that does not work for a large company. Sharon

RE: Texas state inspection

Anything over 4500 lbs. has to be inspected. Our friends had gotten pulled over for not having a race car trailer inspected in TX. Now with us having 1 tag it has to be done at the time you get tags for the trailer. Sharon

RE: Traveling with dogs that RV parks get concerned about

We travel with 4 terriers that are good, trained, socialized and listen to us, but the type of dogs does not concern me as much as does the owner have control of the dog or dogs. Sharon

RE: It's National Fossil Day - Where's your favorite place?

My house, DH is a geologist. All sorts of fossils here. Sharon I have to go no further than my own chair and no, I'm not a geologist. More like a living fossil when I look at what goes on around me. Same here with my husband, I call him a "Fossil" all the time. He is getting closer to the saying "older than dirt". Sorry honey! Sharon

RE: Christmas stuff in Texas

Clarks Gardens in Mineral Wells does Christmas. Just down the street from Lake Mineral Wells State Park. Look on the TPWD website for state parks having Christmas events. We always camp from Halloween until New Years in our state & COE parks. Sharon

RE: Urinary Incontinence

I found that bread the size of the pill works the best & if on a liquid medication it will absorb in the bread. Always used peanut butter too. Sharon

RE: Fishing Bridge Yellowstone

Started reading more on the parks around Yellowstone everyone is talking about. I have read on some other sites to stay in Idaho. What SP is in Idaho that is fairly close to Yellowstone. The other thing we have 4 small dogs thinking of finding a boarding kennel for our day trips to the park. Any within the area? I have not decided what time of next year we will be leaving. My plan was start out around the middle of May from TX, we will not be in a rush either. Sharon

RE: First camping trip with the dog

We travel with 4 terriers, Jack Russell, Toy Fox Terrier, Rat Terrier & Pug/Rat Terrier (Puggat) designer dog or mutt. They all are small and weigh between 19 to 9 lbs. Three sleep in bed with us and JR sleeps in the living room chair. He would like to be in our bed, but the girls will not let him. Anyway I want to get the DH to build a dog bed under our beds storage area for Spot to join us in the same room. As far as getting up at night I have motion sensor lights to see our way in the camper. Sharon

RE: Bringing kayak with you...

DH does like wishbone51, but he uses pool noodles with PVC pipe inside the noodles and straps it down from front to back and side to side putting the straps inside using cab doors to hold it in place. Been doing this for 10 years with not one problem and times 2 will be on top of the roof. Sharon

RE: Gas station help!

Lesson learn after DH did not pull in to a large open fueling station like I told him to do. DH tells me we have a half tank should be fine. Famous last words. Got down the road only to find it would be miles before the next one. By luck he drove in on fumes at a very small town that the station was open & diesel. Never again no matter what the gauge says he pulls in to top it off. Here in TX some can be far and few, plus being a Sunday. Other times you can get blocked in by other fueling up. Sharon Sharon
