RE: Chacala Revisited

That is good news Rob. That is a very nice little village with a good paved road from Mex 200. Did you notice if the School sponsored by a CA Lions Club is still in operation.

RE: travel in meico

I have been in Mexico since Oct 28 absolutely NO PROBLEMS . NAY AYERS GO POUND SAND. Mexico is safe, fun, reasonably priced and being slammed by ignorant gossip.
The mexican people are wonderful. Try a little Spanish, respecta and ask about their families and they will respect you back in Spades.
God willing I will never miss a winter in Mexico until the day I die.

RE: SONORA RV PARK..CLOSING....

RV mex you were a life safer last yr when I was very tired and needed to get off the road. I was really glad as when we left the next morning we encountered the big construction project south into Hermosillo.
And thanks for your offer for emergencies.

RE: This Years Road Reports 2013/01

Good Work Rob. We went to GDL from Melaque at NY and the auto pista is in great shape. I think the tolls for a car were 400 pesos.
Our GPS took us right to our amigos casa in Tonala but on the way out the GPS had trouble with some of the new roads. and the signage to get to Colima is terrible.

RE: Nogales The Night Before Crossing!

Rob . Glad to hear you are close to crossing the border. we were at Boca this AM and the iguana malecon (10 iguanas trying to get warm on branches as little sun - overcast today and a few drops of rain) is still barbed off and the restaurant is closed. Any way the Trailer Park is only 10% full. The beach has been cleaned up nicely after the Christmas madness.
See you later Amigos. Take it easy on the narrow under construction on Mex 15. I have some good red waiting for you.

RE: Cold

We went to Tonala (GDL) for NY and it started to rain and the lows were 8C - I had 3 layers on for the midnight celebrations as my amigo had
absolutely no extra heat. Not even an electric heater.

RE: Upscale RV Parks In Mexico

Melaque Paradise is 8 blocks from the beach in a walled in yard.
Laguna Del Tule RV Bungalows is between a lagoon and the ocean.
Google Earth Search "Melaque jalisco mexico. zoom into centro then go right till you find the green lagoon zoom in and notice the palmas. there were no rigs there when the satelite photo was taken.
I am on the lagoon kitty corner from the Hotel.
It is my paradise 550 Us a month.
I have a ceramic patio, outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower.
about 2K $ investment but I am coming back as long as god is willing.

RE: Half of coach no 110V

OK he found the problem it was a bad connection on one receptacle.
The wires were stuck in the little holes rather than wrapped around the screw and fibrations ended up on bad continuity.

Half of coach no 110V

A friend of mine has a 2000 Cruise Air 35 ft with one slide.
He is a former RV tech and is stumped. He has found that his neutral wire in the back end has no continuity.
All CBs are good.
Any ideas?

RE: Road conditions Lukeville to Maz end OCT 2012

yes I think that is a good idea to get the FMM on line as every year they seem to have a new person at the immigration and it is very tedious especially when you are trying to make it to the FREE BEACH for your first vino tino on the Playa!!

Road conditions Lukeville to Maz end OCT 2012

Rob at
the Lake has asked me to report
Stop at the border crossing at Lukeville and walk over the border to pick up your tourist card. Stay overnight on US side.
Crack of sparrows fart cross the border and head to Km 21. there will be a long line of trucks and you have to sneak past and turn into the customs check point. Be careful the lanes are narrow.
Then head to the 99 mile Banerjito park on the right just before the gates. Dont follow the vehicle permit signs as I did because it is a parking lot with no exit. Pick up your TIP if required.
Mex 2 is in pretty good shape but sections where travelling in left lane is smoother. From Santa Ana there are sections where they are repairign and they have cut the pavement at the right white line with a 3 ft drop off. SLOW down and pay attention. I think there was about 40 km of this white knuckle situation. going through Hermosillo is a piece of cake but now you have to stay to the right to turn south using the underpass to guaymas.
We always stay at the Free Beach in San Carlos turn left at the round about that takes you to the Delfin Condo complexes.
It is about 2 km turn right when you hit the condos and head along the beach. There are several nice parking places.
A great quiet first night by the beach. Has been safe for us now for about 8 yrs
