RE: Happy Festivus To All My Fellow 'Class B' Lovers

Enter a Christmas Carol
Type in any Christmas song and see what the little puppets do.
Then, type in any non-Christmas song (I typed in Happy Birthday) and you'll get a kick out of the response. One of the funniest I typed in was Jingle Bell Rock... they forget the words half way through.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, AND HAPPY 2010 TO EVERYONE!

RE: 3-Ingredient Peach Crisp

I made Sportsman's peach cobbler this morning - delicious - and thanks for posting the recipe - much easier than the way I've been doing it. I used a 9x12 glass casserole dish. I poured the first 29 oz. can of sliced peaches in the dish without draining. I drained the juice off of the second 29 oz. can before putting it in the dish. I used one pouch of the cookie mix. A tasty comfort food to go with our morning coffee on a rainy day here in PA!

RE: It's Crab Time

We're in DE for the summer and we enjoy crabbing from our dock. Besides the ideas already mentioned, here are two more we like.
Mix some of your crab meat in with your recipe for making deviled eggs. The recipe I use includes egg yolks, Miracle Whip or mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, and crab meat. I don't measure anything, I just mix it together and fill the egg halves.
The other recipe we like is macaroni/crab salad. Cook the macaroni with a little Old Bay Seasoning added to the water. Drain. Mix in Miracle Whip, chopped celery, crab meat, salt, pepper, and a couple of smashed fine hard cooked eggs. Again, I don't measure, I just throw it together. A dear, native friend here, who shared this recipe with me, said always use Miracle Whip instead of mayo but you can adjust it to fit your tastebuds.

RE: How I Arrived At My CVC Forum Handle

CAMPIE - Our last name is Camp - when hubby raced, everyone called him Campie. I decided to write it in all CAPS here just to remind me of all the kiddos I had in the 35 plus years of teaching who came to first grade printing their names in ALL CAPS and what a chore it was to get them to just make the first letter in their name BIG!

RE: Gutter Brush for spouting

You think you're confused, what about me, ha! Click on
Gutter Brush
Hubby was talking to someone about this yesterday and when I looked it up, I was thinking oh that won't work for us because we have more pine needles than leaves. I was just wondering if anyone here ever used this product and what they thought of it.

Gutter Brush for spouting

We just heard about this product - putting the brush in the spouting instead of covering the spouting with a cover. Our cottage is surrounded by neighbor's with trees. I could see that maybe it would work with leaves but not so sure about the pine needles. Anyone?

RE: I just LOVE Class B's!

We love our B, too! It's been great traveling in it all over the USA the past couple of years. Since retiring, we live at our DE cottage four months of the year. We haven't been taking as many long trips in our B as we used to. So we've found other uses for it - an extra room for here at home or when at our cottage - using it as a daily driver - shopping trips (hubby loves that he has a place to hang out while I Walmart) - going to the grandkid's sporting events - trips to Lowes or Home Depot for big stuff - taking our cats to vet appointments. Heck, we even like taking it to the local custard shop. We can eat inside our B - no bugs and drink whatever we want with our meal!
To you youngens out there - don't wait till you can afford one - look for a good used one OR get a van and fix it up to suit your needs. When I look back to when our two kids were little - some of our best memories were when we took our business van, threw in a mattress, bedding, cooler, pee bucket, a tent for the kids to sleep in, cooking stuff, food, hung our clothes up on hangers around the top, laundry baskets to store stuff, lawn chairs, toys, whatever - and headed for places like Chincoteague VA, state parks, etc. You just can't beat it!
Get out there and enjoy yourselves - even if it's only for a day or so at a time. Life marches on too fast!

RE: getting Vista Cruiser!

Candy, welcome and congratulations! We have a VC G-24, too. Here's one tip - keep the window on the sliding door closed when loading, unloading, going in and out a lot, and when sliding the door open and shut multiple times in a row. We learned the hard way and cracked the window although our dealer replaced it at no cost. You've come to the right place - lots of good, friendly people here.
Enjoy your B!

What a precious picture - he looks soooo content! Sorry to hear about your furbaby's passing. We lost our Mr. Meanie in September and I'm still not over it (even though we have other cats). Enjoy your new little one. He sure is a cutiepie!

RE: Weight Watcher Recipes

I came across this thread while looking for healthier foods for hubby and I. Just wanted to say instead of printing it off, this is what I did. First, I saved the thread to My Favorites for later reference. Then I copied and pasted the recipes I want to try first into an e-mail to myself and I'll print that off. Thanks to all for these great recipes!

RE: Tybee or Jekyll

We stayed at River's End.....love Tybee! Don't miss taking the trolley into Savannah for the day. We got our tickets at the campground office. The trolley picks you up and brings you back. Lots to see and do. Do a search on here for Savannah, Tybee. Lots of info from past posts. Have a good trip!

RE: Where to stay Charleston/Savannah

We stayed at River's End Campground when we stayed in Savannah. We tend to stay at beachtype areas it seems. We liked that we could walk to the water, lighthouse, North Beach Grille (near the lighthouse) for drinks and food. We drove into Tybee, parked, and walked the beach and checked out the shops. I remember we ate breakfast at the Sugar Shack. We went into that little aquarium there, too.
We purchased our tickets at the campground office the day we decided to do the trolley tour and we're picked up at the campground. It was nice to relax and let the driving up to someone else. Like poster dqcarol said, stay on the trolley ride for the first time around. After that, you can get on and off as you want. We enjoyed the Riverwalk area and some of the streets around there. Lots of shops, pubs, restaurants. Love Savannah - so beautiful when we were there!
