RE: Parrot cages for the RV

We converted small dog carriers to travel cages with wire bottoms and perches for when we are moving. The acrylic cages didn't give them a place to hold on and Gabby hurt her beak once when I had to brake hard. That's when we started to use the carriers. It's also easier moving them from the house to the RV in them. Was also handy when we had a 5th wheel. We also have two T stands for them to come out of their cages a few times a day. They don't play together so cage top isn't a good idea with them.

Parrot cages for the RV

We have two parrots. A 21 year old African Grey and a 20 year old Yellow Nape Amazon. They have been traveling their whole lives and do very well. The thing is we have been using 18" wide x 18" deep x 25" high acrylic cages in the RV. They have the air holes in the top. These travel cages have been fine for weekend getaways but now that dh is retired we can go for longer times and I don't like the birds cooped up in these small cages. I also don't want to get larger acrylic cages. They can't climb around in them. The only good thing about the acrylic is they keep the mess in. The cages ride side by side on the dinette. I'm thinking of using two conure cages 20.5"L x 16.1"W x 34"H or something similar.
I'd like to know what kind of cages other Parrot owners use for travel and how do you keep the seed and food off the walls and furniture.:@

RE: K Kups coffee???

I also like the Solofill cup better than the My Kcup except there is a little more sediment when using finely ground coffee like Dunkin Donuts coffee.
It also rinses out easier.
I get my Keurig coffee at the Navy Exchange retail store or Bed Bath and beyond.

RE: condition of Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey?

We found something on You tube. Some guy in an apartment on Marin Blvd. took pics of it. He said the water was down the next day. I can't find it now but I found this one.

We were there 5 days there last month.
I found the youtube video. Car under water in downtown Jersey City.

RE: Clever Tip To Remind You To Lower Your TV Antenna

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but we have always used a plastic clothes pin. Clip on the antenna when it's down, clip on the gear shift when the antenna is up.

RE: Hurricane Isaac

We are in Pensacola. When we had a 5th wheel a few years ago we filled up the water and propane and backed up and over as close to the house as we could get. Before the wind got really bad we turned off the fridge and lowered the nose down as far as it would go. We are not near water or an evacuation zone so don't leave the area. We have a MH now and have the gas, water and propane filled. If a hurricane comes this way we will move it over close to the house like we did our C when Ivan came through years ago. No problems then either.
