RE: generator and gas mileage

I run both a/cs while traveling. Keeps my kitty cats happy, lol. Doesn't seem to have much of an effect on the mileage but doesn't really matter...we're going to keep cool. Cat Lady

RE: Single traveler

Lorraine, you might want to check out RV Sue and Her Canine Crew blog. A retired teacher, she opted for a Casita travel trailer instead of larger unit and prefers to boondock on BLM sites. It's ideal for her and she didn't have to invest a lot of money to follow her dream. She has one of the best blogs around and will answer your questions. Really nice lady. Unless you are really sold on the Thor, you might want to read her blog before making a final decision. Can't hurt and might save you a nice little chunk of change. Cat Lady

RE: Yummy Goulash

Deb - I just ate your Yummy Goulash for lunch and it is...yummy. I had mine with a lettuce and tomato salad w/Ranch dressing. Another satisfying comfort food. I'll keep this on hand for a "go-to meal." Thanks again, Deb. Cat Lady

RE: disabled vet finally going fulltime

You might want to contact Nick Russell at the Gypsy Journal and ask him how he gets his VA meds. You can also subscribe to his blog and check out all the other goodies he has available. Cat Lady

RE: Linoleum repair

Years ago when we had this problem we heated an iron to cotton setting, I believe, ripped open a plain, brown paper bag for a one-layer fit over the slit on the vinyl, then ironed over the slit. Use some pressure but not enough to hurt the iron. Go over the tear several times. Raise the bag to check your progress. Repeat as needed. Good luck. Cat Lady

RE: ol' Blue

Every time I prepare your Smokey Monteray Ham Soup I think of you...I fix it often. It's food for the soul...comfort food. I tried to search the archives so I could make it a clicky for anyone interested in the recipe but, unfortunately, I couldn't find it. Prayers coming your way. Cat Lady

RE: about bushnell fl

It's part of the Escapees club. I'm an SKP member; have camped there during Stay and Play period, and enjoyed it very much. I'm debating whether or not I should try to become a worker for SKPs. Maybe someone else has worked there. Cat Lady

RE: Refrigerator has odd smell

I believe another member had this problem some time back and they put charcoal briquets (sp) in the refrigerator and freezer to remove the odor. Worked for them. Couldn't hurt to try. Cat Lady

Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman on Food Network, prepared Egg-in-the-Hole today on her show. Enjoy. Cat Lady

RE: Cajun Experience, Need your Recommendatios.

Wow! Lots of good ideas. When I leave New Orleans may have to check some out. Really like the tobacco factory idea. I'll bet there's some good "home cookin" in these rural areas too! Thanks for sharing. I believe it's Tabasco...not tobacco...factory. Cat Lady

RE: South side of Nashville - is there nothing?

You might want to stay at the Tennessee Livestock Center, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), 1720 Greenland Dr., Murfreesboro, TN., which is about 30-40 minutes from Nashville, off the interstate. IIRC, they have both 30 and 50 amp and water. A dump station is also available. There's at least 25 hookups. Restaurants are close by and WalMart is about 1.5 miles away. Campus security patrols the area but I've never felt unsafe. I paid $115.24/wk that included tax. Call Bonnie at 615-898-5575 for reservations. I've always enjoy my stays. Cat Lady

RE: Cat Downers?

I've got a cat bed, along with a big basket for another cat, on the dashboard of the moho. They like to get up there and sleep or watch the traffic as we're driving down the road. In your case, I see that you have a 5er. Could you leave the cat in there instead? She'd have her bed, cat food/water and litter box. Just a thought. Cat Lady
