RE: Dodge Happijack Brackets

Happijack won't sell him just the brackets. They want to sell him the entire set up. What happens if you damage one bracket? You have to buy everything again?

RE: Dodge Happijack Brackets

He just needs the brackets that go between the cab and the bed. The problem is that Dodge changed the bed design and it is different on his 2008 than on older Dodges.

Dodge Happijack Brackets

Just sold my 1181 to a friend and my Chevy front bed brackets won't work on his 2008 Dodge. Anyone have any for sale or know where he can buy just the front brackets? Thanks!

RE: 2$ Diesel coming from Shale Gas Glut

Do you really think the oil companies will let it be sold for $2 a gal when they can continue to rip us of at $4 a gal. ??

RE: 2004 SRW reg cab f350 and Lance 1191

My 1181 is very close in weight to a 1191. I can tell you that you will be begging for a dually as soon as you get into some good cross winds or the wash from a tractor trailer. Picture blowing out a rear tire at hwy speed and the lack of control you would have using a single rear wheel truck.

RE: Lance 1181 COG moved 18"

My 2005 Chevy hauls my 2005 Lance 1181 with no problems at all. Just returned from a 14,400 mile trip out west and have been to some wonderful remote locations with it. Truck has air bags, Rancho 9000 shocks I set on 7 rear, 5 front and a Hellwig Big Wig sway bar.

RE: dually tire spacers

I have the same truck and my tires were touching a little to often for my comfort so I installed 1/4" spacers. You can't go to wide because of wheel stud length. Now I have a good spacing between the tires when loaded. Got them on Ebay. Make sure you torque the lugs as recommended and you should have no issues.

RE: Stanley, Idaho mid-September

We are currently in Elk Mountain RV. The people are very nice here and the restaurant has great ribs and chicken. There are plenty of great Forest Service campgrounds in the area that you should be able to get into with your camper. Stanley Lake and Red Fish Lake are beautiful. We head for Red Fish today for a week.

RE: What's up with Sturgis?

It seems the norm for Bike Week event towns. Go to Main Street in Daytona Beach and it is a Ghost Town for the most part with empty store fronts until about two weeks before Bike Week and Biketoberfest. Then it is a bustling area again.

RE: MONTANA TRUCK CAMPER RALLY JUNE 21ST - 24TH 2012

I read an interesting article a while back on a camping web page link that advocated accelerating slightly and driving through the blow out in order to manitain control on a front tire blow out. They had done some testing using a Class A and it seemed that the tests proved it was a good idea. Hope I never have to try it.

RE: MONTANA TRUCK CAMPER RALLY JUNE 21ST - 24TH 2012

People are asking because your first rally was a great success. I doubt we will make it next year, but I sure hope you have a good turnout. Just think Joann will have another year with you being busy coordinating it. LOL!

RE: Question Using Tow Tranny Setting; and use of Cruise Control

When hauling the TC I always use Tow/Haul setting on tranny and I also use the cruise. The Allison tranny is the best. It is amazing how it will hold you back on steep desents. We have put 10K on the truck since end of April and it has been a lot of mountain roads with no issues.

RE: Daytona Beach

If it is Bike Week plan on being subjected to lots of loud bikes, tons of traffic gridlock in some areas, but one of the best times you probably will ever have and certainly a memory for the kids. After having worked in emergency services in the DB area for 25 plus years I can tell you first hand that the bikers are way more behaved than the roudy college brats.I wouldn't subject the kids to Bulow. It gets crazy up there at times.

RE: Daytona Beach

Encore parks in the DB area are pretty good. Watch your dates though as there may be other special events happenings when you plan to go and may have difficulty getting a site.

RE: MONTANA TRUCK CAMPER RALLY JUNE 21ST - 24TH 2012

We have been here at the rally since Wednesday and have met some really great folks. The northwest group have really made us Floridians welcome. Rich and Joann have done a wonderful job setting everything up. They picked a really nice campground and they even made sure the weather was good so far. Thanks!

RE: MONTANA TRUCK CAMPER RALLY JUNE 21ST - 24TH 2012

The DW and I are in Kalispell right now until Wed. when we move up to West Glacier. It has been raining cats and dogs for the last 3 days on our trip across Wa. and Idaho. The weather man says it will get nicer though starting tomorrow. There was winter storm warnings last night for West Glacier. I'm not use to winter warnings in June being we are from Fla. See everyone in a couple of days. Safe travels!

RE: Headlights no workie? Help!

If you have a high beam switch on the floor it could be that. Ford also had problems with a breaker in the headlight switch that could go bad. The switch had to be replaced to correct it. Let us know what you find.
