This is the correct (and simple) answer. OTA broadcasts are NOT compressed at all. Both Cable and SAT compress to varying degrees to maximize available bandwidth. The impact of compression is minimal, but can certainly be noticeable, especially as screen size increases. OTA is the best quality you can get besides BluRay. Cable and satellite are compressed, generally. Ditto

Interesting article.... that would be why instead of forking out $54 plus for cartridges, we simply buy another $27 dollar printer at Walmart. Now that really makes sense doesn't it ??
