Walter, wi-f- is not bad. On it right now. Weather is to be a touch warm today but not too much of a possibility of rain. Safe tgravels.It's gonna be a touch warm for the duration of the whole rally, according to the forecast.:p

Walter when are you getting here? You are missing out.Wednesday afternoon sometime.
This is going to be to be quite an interesting rally for us. :p Gretchen is not really feeling that well, and Inga is still, well, a puppy! :E She is rather shy and fearful, especially of other dogs barking. Puppies go through a "fear stage", and I think she is still in the midst of it.

Other than that we would have to cancel the trip to Branson and the Old Fella Rally to stay home with Mama. I hate it and I have tried to think of different options but this seems to be the only answer.Richard, you and Sue have gone above and beyond, and I think you have made, absolutely, the correct decision.

And now I need help: Ben won't eat his puppy food :-( It's good stuff, too - Wellness Puppy (dry). (I had to drive 60 miles to buy that...ugh) He REALLY loves Jimmy and Jack's food - plain old Iams Chunks which we grabbed because we couldn't get to a store that carried the Diamond Naturals I normally feed. So he's certainly eating - just not the stuff he's *supposed* to be eating.
He's still at that "I only eat what the other dogs eat" stage. People food is spurned - it's not like I can taint his puppy food with a bit of soup (tried that). Cheese is uninteresting. So is ham. Tonight we're grilling burgers and I'll attempt a bit of that....
So at what age do they start sampling other foods? Or maybe I can find some wet puppy food.... (another 60-mile drive...)These are problems we have always faced with Gretchen.:p If it wasn't for the pred she is back on, she would still be a very persnickity eater. Of course, the pred changes everything! Now she eats like it's her last meal!
Inga, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. She does the happy dance whenever she thinks food is about to appear!
I know this has not helped with your problem, but I'm sure some of the dog food gurus will chime in here soon!:W

Garland has asked me to mention that she will be bringing a few handmade "doggy related" sewing projects for the raffle. They are really cute items, if I must say so my self!:B
Also, the rally may be our first trip out with Inga, so hopefully things will go well! :p:W She will be 14 weeks old on the day we arrive. We are going to try to do a one or two day camping trip beforehand, but Garland's schedule is pretty tight with grandchildren duties. We will probably try and go to our closest state park, which is Babler. It's only about a 20 minute drive, so if things go South, no big deal. I am, however, anticipating that things will go just fine!:)

Dang!
Back on a low dose of pred. I noticed a little "bulginess" starting up again in one of Gretchen's eyes, but no redness at least. Not gonna take a chance, so it's back on the pred for the rest of her life. I talked to our vet, and she concurs.

Not to be trite, but it's kind of an example of, "you can't fool mother nature." (At least not forever.) I have no doubt that if a rabbit ran from mild mannered Gretchen, she would chase it and heaven knows what the outcome would be. Instincts are powerful things to overcome, especially such a basic one such as prey drive.
