RE: 5th wheel escape route....

I have thought about the same thing as it would be big drop to the ground from the escape window on our 5th wheel. My thought is I have a good fire extinguisher in the bed room with the ideas that would be my best way to the door by using the extinguisher, the fire extinguisher that comes with most RV are not very inexpressive to me, I also have one in the basement storage and one in the truck, have not need them yet but no one knows when you will.
My 2 cents worth

RE: Finding a well-built rig

Look at an Excel by Peterson Ind, they are a little on the heavy side but built for full timing and have great customer support. They have 3 lines, the Winslow, the Limited and the toy hauler Wild Cargo. Most dealers in in the middle in of the US and will do some customizing for an ordered unit.

RE: Trav'ler Dish satellite question

Yes the 722 can be used with the Dish Traveler with one cable if you have the silver dish splitter at the receive. I discovered something new this trip, we had set up and the dish was pointing close to a tree and the traveler control said we had all three sat but nothing on 129 would not come in, it was for 1 night sow we did not do anything to improve the reception. The next stop the dish was in the clear and was indicating all three sats but no 129 channels. After much head scratching I did switch check and then every thing started working OK.

RE: Time to update Router and Air Card

I bought a Verizon 4620L Jet-pact for starters and it is working great by its self, we are in the trailer in a 4g area, When we get home in a week will see if we do need a router at all, I went next door inside of the trailer I only dropped 1 bar in strength.

Time to update Router and Air Card

I have a Cradle Point 900 router and and Verizon 727 3 G air card.
The Router has died and it is time to up grade to a 4G card and have started looking at upgrades. I thought that an Verizon Jet pack would be a good choice but was told that the Wi Fi had range of only 30 ft, that seams not very useful for house maybe OK for a RV, mine would be used for both. Have looked at Cradle Point MBR 95 router and briefly at the Verizon 4G UML 295. Any one use this conbo and the good and bad.

RE: Discovered Inoperative Trailer Brake

I had a brake that was not working due to bad magnet, I bought a new brake control and the instructions told me to warm up the brakes before doing final setting. I drove about 2 miles using the manual brake I warmed up the brakes and when I stopped I check all of the hubs and one was cold. Completed my test drive and checked the magnet with a meter and the magnet was open.

RE: Chicken or the Egg - Truck or 5er

I Disagree Buy the 5th wheel 1st and then get a truck to match. Too many folks buy a truck and and then buy too heavy of a trailer , most problems are using 3/4 ton when they really need a 1 ton because the pin wight is too heavy after every thing is loaded into the trailer. Trailer weights give in brochures are some times miss leading.

DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE by HTC

Has Any one got the new Verizon Droid Phone by HTC. I thinking of upgrading from my old flip phone that I have carried in a leather holster for many years and don't think I would like one the size of a Motorola Razer on my belt.
Any thoughts??
