RE: 31' C

John: I find no problem with the storage. We go to florida each winter and have no problem carrying what we need to winter over. I do tow a car and put some things in there but not much. As far as an extra battery, i do have one but just carry it in case of an emergency. The 4kw onan generator keeps me charged up. Just make sure you use the generator because the more you use it the longer it will last. They love to run and need to. Anything else just ask Denny

RE: 31' C

Hi John. We bought a Jayco 31A Escapade in 2003 and have found it to be all we expected it to be. We still have it and love it. Drove it to Alaska in 2003 and and it preformed perfectly. We now have over 40,000 miles on it and it runs as if new. The carring capacity is large, mostly because there are no slides, but we have found that the layout is roomy and slides are not needed. We tow a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and you hardly know it is behind you and the gas milage is really not affected much. The ride is great and did improve when i installed new shocks{Monroe. The only thing about our motorhome we had a problem with was the roof. In 2003 jayco went to a TPO roof instead of Rubber. There were some units that had leaks from this and ours was one of them. It took a long time to find out where the leak was comming from, it showed up at the rear drivers side window but was actually comming from the roof seam along that side. Jayco acknowledged the problem and last fall took the motorhome back to the factory and replaced the whole complete top of the motorhome at no cost to me. This was 4 years past the warrentee so you can see what a dependable and respected company Jayco is. My next motorhome will be another Jayco. Hope this post helps and i highly recommend you considering the 31A Escapade. Denny- PS -if you need any other questions answered about this unit just call. Good luck

RE: Monaco" Diplomat"

Great reviews and I really appreciate it. I saw the unit today and it is immaculate. Has all the options available for that model that year. All the 6 volt batteries are new and so are the tires. It has the aluminum rims cold climate package thermal pane windows and the list goes on. If he doesn't buy it i will. Thanks again all who contributed- Denny

RE: best product to clean up awning?

I use and have for years now a product from the dollar store called Awesome it comes in 20 oz bottle for one dollar and does a perfect job everytime. I think it is even oranger sented now. There are more expensive products out there but why waste money when this one works fine. Al black streaks and discoloration are removed with little effort. Pine or spruce sap needs extra work. My opinion. Denny

RE: Ford V10 gas fill up problems

I found out if i find a station that is slightly angled down to the front of the motorhome it fills ok but if level or slightly up hill have all the same problems as the rest of you. On the longer motorhomes the tank is farther from the fill hole and that creates a problem also, espically when it starts to get full but needs that last 6 to eight gallons, a real pain and have had people behind me wondering what the ***##* i was doing. RE: waxing

I too have used Nu Finish and highly recomend it.You can even do it in the sun and have perfect results. Removes bugs tar and buffs up easily to a brilliant shine as for the tpo roof i recomend Murphys Oil Soap. Walmart has it and it to does a great job denny

RE: License requirements - who are you subject to?

I also wish other states would recognize my home state fishing license. I would be under there limits and such but the right to fish should be allowed. Fishing in the ocean from the beach should be allowed anywhere on the complete coast of the US. What do You think? Denny. Was in Florida this winter and they wanted over 80 dollars to be able to fish in salt and fresh water so i declined.

RE: Jayco Escapade Leak Test and Results

J-D I too have a 2003 Jayco Escapade 31A and through the years we have had it there was always these small leaks in different locations. Jayco replaced windows at there expense even after the warrentee had expired, but they came back. Then finally in the 5th almost 6th year bubbles appeared in the ceiling over our bed and discoloration at the wall to ceiling area all along the drivers side. I called Jayco and made a video of the problem and sent it to them with a letter. To my surprise they called and to make a long story short they took the motorhome back to the factory and replaced the complete top at no expense to me. Seems that in 2003 they changed to a TPO roof instead of the rubber roof and they had problems with the TPO where it wrapped over the sidewalls. When i got my motorhome back from the factory ,I saw that they had returned to the rubber roof. SO this is just for your info. If you want more details just send a message. Denny
