RE: Exploring Idaho

Come here to McCall and go canoeing out of North Beach on Payette Lake. A trip up the North Fork of the Payette River will be leisurely and full of beautiful sights. An easy paddle:) Then dinner at the McCall Brewery will top off the day. Stay at any of the State park campgrounds on Cascade Lake....well kept, right on the lake.....Pm me for more info if you like.

RE: advice, where can I fill up water tank while on the road?

We always travel with a full tank of water as well as propane...you just never know. If 500# is over the top for you, you may want to consider trimming weight elsewhere......

RE: Do Hosts Do This?

And here is an example......we were hosting at a state park in SD. A tornado warning was posted and part of our job was warning campers. It was going well until I contacted a young boy at a trailer with the awning out. I asked if his parents were there. "Dad is inside" he said. I knocked on the door and a very irritated, rude yokel full of beer answered. I told him about the warning and he slammed the door in my face. Okey dokey, said I.....we and the other campers headed for the storm shelter to wait out the warning. When we exited the shelter, the only damage was the destroyed awning and ez-up belonging to the yokel!!!! There is justice!!!!! :):)

RE: why would you do that?

We have a truck camper and I have waist length hair. It is extremely difficult to wash it in the camper shower. It can be done, but I prefer to wash it elsewhere if possible:)

RE: To Bomb or not to Bomb?

It may be best to contact a pest control firm. They sound like carpenter ants....if so, you definitely need to get rid of them.

On that note....I am closing this thread. Once lawyers are mentioned, per forum rules, closing is warranted.

RE: How big is too big for scenic campgrounds? (5er)

Settingoutsoon....regarding fiver towing....not really. We towed the 34 with a F450 & the 35 & 39 with a F60. The freightliner was by far the easiest truck to handle......

CKNSLS...Bully for you. We fulltimed for 9 years and never needed the firearm, nor did we need the vehicle insurance. That does not mean we shouldn't be prepared......

RE: How big is too big for scenic campgrounds? (5er)

We have had 3 different sized 5ers....from 34' to 39' The 34'was the easiest to find parks for, tho very few places were a problem even for the largest one.

Just keep in mind that many rv parks frown on business run out of their property.....most state parks prohibit it.

RE: How often do you dump

We have a truck camper with small tanks. Black and grey 30, fresh 35. We were fulltimers for 9 years and learned how to manage the tanks.
We just finished a 9 day trip. We showered every day and used outside toilets only a few times. Dishes were done every day. By day 8 we were able to dump, and still had grey, black space left and some fresh water. So for us, dumping weekly would be very easy.

RE: License plates from truck to TC and back again, and again.

My gosh....we switch plates all the time. It only takes a few minutes and is part of the prep.
Here in Idaho, the plates must be switched, no copies....we asked several DMVs, our local sheriff, our local state trooper, the dealer, even our storage owner mentions it when taking it in or out of storage. So we took the hint hint and switch.
