RE: Snakes

My wife and I have never been afraid of snakes, but keep a healthy respect for the venomous type. I will by pass a rattlesnake until he gets in my space then I will kill him. Here is one we got in south texas , 5 1/2 footer with 16 rattles.

RE: License Plate on Coach Front Required in Texas?

Well I am registered in South Dakota with plates on the front and back. I purchased two (one for front and one for back) of those fancy plate holders and have driven about 6 years with them, I was on 35 north of Laredo and a state highway police pulled me over gave me a ticket for illeagle display of a license plate. Said he could not read the state where it was registered.

I have a Nikon D5100 w/70-300 zoom lens, here are a couple of pictures I took in Alaska. I love the Nikons, this is number 4. I had EM (film) a Nikon D70 digital, and a D5100, I also have a Coolpix s6100 to carry in my pocket.

RE: Where to hide them

In my experience you can not hide chocolate from your wife. My wife has a chocolate sense that guides her. No matter whose RV has chocolate she can find it.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

when I order something I need I will always go to the office and pick it up. The service men have their arms full servicing the guards. While in Cotulla I had my orders sent to the local automotive store and went in there to pick it up.(with their permission of course.)
My wife has a washer and she done a load about everyday. We had a 500 gal. tank and when they brought us water every two weeks we were fine, one time the service man stretched out and we ran out of water. 250 gal a week should be plenty if you are not washing you RV and toad.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

We worked for GGs and was on a gate for Swift for 9 months. Very nice people, kinda laid back and didn't push real hard. Very easy to work for.

RE: Removing stickers

Thanks for all the replies. We tried the hair dryer with no luck. Maybe I just wanted it to be quicker.

Removing stickers

I have one of the USA maps on the side of my motorhome. The weather and the Texas sand and sun has done a number on it. Does anyone have an easy way of removing these permanent stickers.
Thank you

RE: Is Interstate 10 in Louisiana still a rough road?

Last July we traveled I10 from San Antonio to Jacksonville Florida, my wife and I both were very pleased with the road conditions. There were a few rough places but not nearly as bad as I40 around OK< city.
We were very impressed with I10.

RE: aqua hot

We had the same problem, our hot water we was getting especially in the shower was just a small stream. We could not run any cold water while showering or we didn't get a hot shower. Our problem was calcium build up. We filled the coil in the aqua hot with vinager, let it set for 24 hours then drained it out. What a mess, the water started our green then ran clear after a while. We then got the water softner on the go. So now we run soft water and have not had a problem since.

RE: Snowbirders choice of dress

LOL so strange. I as walk and drive thru the snowbird parks, I actually break down and laugh.
Do some of these people actually wear the clothes at home that they do in the parks?
Well at this age whatever we wear would be better than nothing at all. Oh Gag I don't even want to think about that.

RE: Anyone going to Alaska this Summer 2013???

A question to all that have traveled to Alaska. How is the cell phone service?? The wife and I have AT&T phones and wonder is we can call back to the "48 states" easy enough.
They work from France because we already tried them from there!
I don't know about ATT but Verizon works great. Here is a couple of pictures I took in Alaska to whet your appatite.

RE: SUMMER ROADTRIP

I never make plans to stop any place at a certain time or date. We travel about 300 miles, I will look at the area we will be in to see if there is anything interesting and we always find something. We may spend a day or two or even a week. While traveling through Colorado on I 70 we were held up (not by our choice) in Grand Junction. I asked some of the locals about interesting items and they told me about the Colorado Monument..never heard of it so we wentg up on the monument. If you get in that area it is well worth the trip.

RE: Cleaning out S&B

When we went fulltime I told our kids and grandchildren we were moving into the motorhome. They should all come and get what they wanted and the rest we were going to have a sale. Well long story short they cleaned out the entire house. Everything from the house garage and my barn out back, we had nothing left, but on the good side everthing we had is still in the family.
This was all done in one afternoon.

RE: Most fun job in the world!

Before I retired I was Santa at stores and breakfast at Hardies and other food services. Very enjoyable
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u189/smithster_photos/Mexico/2007/DSC_6523x.jpg?t=1241918227 height=350 width=550
When we went to Mexico I donned the Santa suit for a small village, the pay as you see here is what really counts.

The most enjoyable time I have ever had, but then the kids always melts my heart. I love children.
