RE: Kalispell Campgrounds

Today we stopped by to pick up my oldest daughter who had been staying with her grandparents at the RV park (actually turned out they were staying at the RV park across the road). From your post, I am a little confussed. Was this Spruce Park or one across the road where you were rudely treated?

RE: Grand Teton National Park--Idaho fires

Unfortunately with so many fires around, most of the mountain west states are covered with smoke. I am 100 miles south YS and it is quite hazy! Going east from Boise Sunday we could only see about 1/4 mile in front of us on I-84.

RE: grizzly bear centers

If you want to get close and personal with bears I would highly suggest Bear World. http://www.yellowstonebearworld.com/ X2 Its between Rexburg and Rigby, ID about 50 miles south of West Yellostone, MT Bears, elk, moose, wollves mountain sheep and lots of animals. And you drive thru it.

RE: Kalispell Campgrounds

I have not been to either of these campgrounds. But my son is a new dentist in Kalispell and we just visited him and family, for about the 5 th time, there a week ago. We spent 2 wks. I like to drive around to get the lay of things and my son and I also went fishing on the Flathead river near the Spruce RV in several locations up and down river from its location. The river is really beautiful. I looked at both of their web pages. I would choose the Spruce ___ RV. They are even less per day. Don't miss visiting the small town of Big Fork while you are there. My wife won't make a visit to see the kids in Kalispell without going to Big Fork, too.

Another Federal Offence

I was camping in a beautiful dispersed NF campground with a lodgepole pine grove closely surrounding us. After getting the 5er set up and leveledI decided to look around. To my surprise, I saw saw about half a dozen live trees that had been chopped down. These were up to 6 in. in dia.. I'm sure that it must have been some kid with some mindless parent that just sat there while the kid did it. When I got home I called the NF ranger district and told them. They thought that their ranger/officer may have visited the camp and may know who did it. I hope parents will pay attention to what their kids are doing.

RE: June 23 & 24 on the Alaska Hwy near Kluane Lake in Yukon

Thanks for the memories of our 2009 trip. We spent the night at the 1st rv camp around the lake coming from the south. There was a nice couple running it. What is the name of it?

RE: Trickle charger

I have been trying to follow this thread. I just started to read it tonight. I just bought 2- Costco six volt batteries yesterday, so I am just now trying to figure the hookup and charging with 12 v. chargers. I have 2 - Schumachers. I get the hookup in the rv and one charger, but how do I hookup the 2nd charger???

RE: Road condition to Yellowstone?

The west entrance at West Yellowstone, MT would be the best way, unless they are staying in the Park. West Yellowstone compared to Gardnier, MT is much larger and has more services i.e. motels, eateries etc. I have stayed both places several times.

RE: Quick help needed

My TV is a gas burner so I am mighty impressed with his (Chevy 2500 diesel 5inch exhaust cold air and chipped) first time I have ever passed going uphill and accelerating. Dale Almost anyone who is driving a gasser would be impressed, even in an unchipped Dmax. I know I was and still am.

RE: We Made It!!! We are HERE. Hello Alaska!!

We stayed several days in Glenn Allen at a nice park just down the road west of the junction about a mile or two on the north side. We also spent 4 days at King for a Day RV park right on the river about 15 miles south of GA when the REDS we running. Only park visitors can fish there. I don't know if the fish wheels be running yet at Chitna. If the Reds are coming up the Copper River, they will be. Don't miss it, whether you fish or not. We did not have any plans either, that is what was so fun.

RE: Shangai'ed on Colorado 470

No, thank you. Colorado has illustrated to us that we are not welcome in their State, but our money is. I lived in the Chicago area for most of my teens and the ol' man tells me an aquaintance of his made a living off of the tolls collected over many years that he retired a millionaire from the money he collected. So, if you honestly believe this money goes into highway maintenance, all you have to do is look down when you are rolling through on one of their masterpiece tollways and you will know better. I was just reading something several months ago about the wages and pensions some of these Illinios, Ohio and Indiana toll booth collectors are bringing home. So your story is not stretching the truth. These are some of reasons the unions are so powerful. If the State of Colorado is condoning this type of corrupt lawful Piracy, shame on them. I will not be bringing my wallet to this corrupt state either. There is no excuse for this to be going on. NONE!

RE: Mystery Tool

Wingnuts...... I've seen a few tightened up wingnuts on these forums that really need some adjusting. The 1st several replys to the OP about using that for mixing drinks to help loosen up some of those folks would be its best use.:W
