RE: Cabover window covering

Tape aluminum foil to the glass. Deflects heat and keeps out the sunlight.
I've put the AL tape on the outside and foam insulation on the inside, With the curtain closed you don't see the insulation.

RE: Propane level

We have a SeeLevel monitor panel. When the propane is at 80% the panel shows 100% which means the propane capacity is full.
26 March Arrived home in Michigan from Florida.
9 April panel read 59%
14 April " " 56% I turn off main valve on tank firmly
23 April " " 51%
29 April " " 49%
6 May " " 45%
14 May " " 41%
19 May " " 41%
25 May " " 42%
Could these different % readings be because of increasing ambient temperature?
It got up into the 80's for a couple of days then down into the 50's for a couple.
The mh is stored in an unheated, uninsulated pole barn.

RE: tire question

Each pair of duels should be the same, always run as a pair. But each pair do not have to.

RE: Propane level

That's not what I really wanted to hear, but needed to know.
Is there a long term warranty on LP tanks?

RE: Propane level

It's not a pressure gauge, it's a level gauge. In order for pressure to increase the liquid needs to vaporize, which heat will cause, more vapor less liquid, thus lower level.
I did turn the valve off firmly, still level went down, until this week.
I've had one in the past where the valve stem packing on that valve leaked.

Propane level

How much does the level of propane, in a tank, change with the change of ambient temperature? As the weather has warmed the level in our tank has gone down about 2 to 3% each week in the past couple of months. About a month ago I closed the valve on the tank, thinking there might be a small leak in the line, and the level still continued to go down. It's kind of hard to believe the tank leaks. A leak that small is hard to find.

Mine was behind a kick panel beside the e-brake. There were 2 plugs. I got the wrong one first.

RE: Surpentine belt replacement

A few years after the serpentine belt was being used a Ford mechanic told me that Ford told the mechanics NOT to change those belts unless they were loosing pieces.
Chirping is not the belt but a bearing, most likely an idler bearing.

RE: Downsizing to a C

The diesel that that Ford did put in the E series van did not have the inter-cooler, due to the fact there was not enough room under the van hod, there for was not comparable to the ones used it their pick-ups.

I wonder if some how it is air logged. Is there a way that you could lay the pump flatter or turn it over?

RE: Generator Startup Proceedure

I don't know about the '86 but on our '03 you can run the fuel pump to get fuel to the carb. with out cranking the engine. Go to the start stop switch at the generator, push and hold the switch in to the stop position. After a few seconds you will here the fuel pump running, continue to hold the switch until the sound changes. The reason for the change in the sound is that the carb. bowl is now full and the float has stopped the flow of gas. Now try to start the generator.

RE: LP Gas Main Shut Off

When you go to turn the LP on turn/open the valve very slowly at first. There is a rapid flow safety within it and if you turn it on too fast it may close and not let any gas out.

RE: Pilot light for fridge blowing out while driving down road

My Lance 1050S has the same problem. I called Norcold and they told me they make a wind guard to help prevent the flame from blowing out. It is called "Norcold Service Kit N5&N6 Wind Guard, Part #627686". You have to get it at a Norcold dealer as Norcold won't sell directly to you. Best price I found was at Tweeties for about $38 not counting shipping. It consists of 3 or 4 blocks that block part of the side vent and 2 sheet metal pieces that fit around the burner area. I decided that I will fabricate my own and see how that works.
Hope this helps.
Ken
Many years ago my FIL had a pick-up camper that did that. He put a furnace air filter in the door air inlet, that solved his problem.

RE: Levelers? Will You Share Your Pictures of Your Set-Up

I use 2x6's and 4x6's. The 4x6's I cut one end to about a 30* angle. Some times, on wet grass, the front wheels will slide them instead of rolling up on them.

RE: Generac Genset Issue

Perhaps your battery cables or frame ground are corroded, the starter load is enough to work but the exacter doesn't use enough power to work it's way through the corrosion.
