RE: Atwood water heater humming noise

It is the electric element, it gets built up mineral deposits, (white crude) take it out and either clean it good or replace it. While it is out you just as well replace it.

RE: RDS Auxilary Fuel Tank

I have a RDS 60gal. fuel and tool and I really like it and I have had it in two different trucks with no problems. If I was buying another one I might drop down to a 40 gal tank with bigger tool box. 40 gal with main tank would get me plenty of fuel to drive all day. That is what I like not having to stop for fuel with the trailer during the day. When we pull in for the night I unhook and while the wife is fixing supper a I go fill up the truck you can get into any kind of station when not hooked up

RE: Would you recommend a 5th wheel for me?

Now folks I back my trailer in a lot by myself, sure I might have to get out a time or two to look but that is OK. If this lady decides in her mind she is going to learn I bet she can learn to back anything. Mater of fact I would rather back in by myself as to have someone back there that does not know what they are doing.

RE: B&W Companion Hitch Front to Back Adjustment

For most people moving the hitch forward would make it harder to back. The more you move forward of axle the SLOWER the response will be to turn. The farther the hitch would be Rear of axle the quicker it would respond. This is why a bumper hitch trailer turns quicker and is easier to back than a fifth wheel.

RE: 2013 F350 Shopping: Options to consider?

Navigation is something I would hate to do without, I also really like the fifth wheel prep option, I have the B&W hitch for it.

RE: Waxed front cap - left smudge marks, advice???

I also got a bottle of that same McGuire's Marian cleaner wax that I had heard about on this forum, I had the same results as you it made streaks and swirls in the decals luckily I saw what it was doing after only waxing about 1/4 of my camper, I then through the rest of that junk in the garbage.
I really like most all of the other McGuire's products except that darn cleaner wax

RE: Which Truck?

I know that the majority on here like there srw trucks, and yes a 350 srw truck will handle the trailer you decribed. I have pulled all kinds of trailers all my life and when you are towing one of these heavy fivers the difference in stability in a drw and a srw is like day and night. If you are buying a truck mainly to tow a trailer then get a dually and you will not be sorry. If you are getting a truck mainly for a daily driver and only tow a little on short drive then get a srw.

RE: $40,000 question

On a gas truck I would go 4.10 gears. 2500 or 3500 either one will do the job. I was at a Ford dealer today and he had a roll of 2012 gas F2500 there I was not looking for that kind of truck but dealer said he had a large mark down on them. So you might be able to find a 2012 really worth the money.

RE: Ford 6.7 DFCM drain question

Since you have not records on truck I would sure change both fuel filters, then you know where you are at. If you are going to do it I would advise you to wait until you get the manual it tells you how to change the filters and bleed them

RE: life style fifth wheel

I have been through the Lifestyle factory and there frames are built in house by the same people that built the frames in the carriage factory. They do not paint them though, they take them down the road to a paint shop for painting.
We have had our Lifestyle trailer since July 1 and our still very pleased this it. Just got home from spending 4 months in it in the RGV
