RE: Is it just me? Or do you not talk about Health Issues ?

I think enzee is right. What does it hurt to lend an ear? There are a lot of scared people that feel alone some times. Sometimes it just helps to express fears out loud.

RE: New Member / First Time RV'er / Advice Needed

We have owned 9 RV's, 4 motorhomes. We never had a bad experience with any brand, except for the poor service, or lack thereof, from Thor. Even when you buy a previously owned Tiffin, they will not let you down. They answer their phones and emails. Because of Tiffin's extraordinarily customer service, we don't see ourselves buying any other brand. We also enjoyed our 5th wheels too. Good luck.

RE: Rand McNally RVND7710 & Magellan 9165T RV GPS comparisons

Moshieh, please post to this thread when and if you hear of Garmin coming out with an RV specific GPS. We thought about ordering the Garmin DEZL 560LMT, but read that it would divert motor homes way out of the way, because it was made mostly for Truckers. Surely Garmin will make on RV specific since so many of us prefer Garmin.

RE: Rand McNally RVND7710 & Magellan 9165T RV GPS comparisons

We just tried out the new Rand McNally 7720. It is still hard to see with much sunlight coming through the window. Garmin has a much better interface and is much more user friendly. e are returning it to Amazon. I am going to call Garmin Monday morning and ask if they are coming out with an RV specific GPS January 1st, 2013. We hope that will happen. BY FAR, our Garmin 330 Street Pilot with the Bus setting is much better than Rand McNally's 7720 0r 7710. Garmin's starting with State, then city, then street and street number, makes a lot more sense than RM's searching for town or zipcode etc etc. Really, how many 1st streets are there in the U.S. to have to go through. We've given the Rand McNally 7710 and 7720 a fair try. We'll keep our Garmin with maps from 2010, and hopefully Garmin will come out with one for RV's and Motor Homes.

1492, how do I do this? I am using my cell/Droid, to post this. This is the only Forum where this is happening. I can sign on to this Forum, but I can't subscribe to a thread, or post. Everything leads back to Login/sign-on screen. I am using Internet Explorer.

I cannot stay logged in. What to do?

When I go on RV.net I login every single time. If I change pages, or try to post a reply, it logs me off. It then takes me in circles with User Name--Password, over and over. I don't remember this ever happening before. I tried to contact the Forum Administrator, but received an automated email saying I would get another email. I use my Droid to access this Forum and never have problems. Do any of you have any idea of why I can't stay logged on, and go in circles with User Name:--------- Password:----------- I am sure there is a simple fix, but I don't know how to do it.

RE: condition of Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey?

Thank you for posting the UTube. We had Dinner a couple of times at Surf City while we were staying at Liberty Harbor. It looks like the water was up to the door handle on that car, but it looked like they didn't get the wind damage. Water is bad enough. Thanks so much for keeping all of us updated. We just hope it comes back. We will be greatful if it can be the way it was. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean, friendly, and safe. When we were there we saw everything , Prevost's, RV Rentals, and Pop ups. Rv'ers were able to take their children to The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and NYC without spending thousands of dollars. If Liberty Harbor doesn't re-open, it will be a huge loss for all of us.

RE: condition of Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey?

I tried to go on Liberty Harbor RV Park, and it says "site not available". Have any of you heard anything? We hope and pray it will still be an RV Park. If not, there will no longer be anyplace near NYC to stay in our RV's. There are 50 sites with electric and water only. The office appeared to be a mobile home. We would be thankful if they just moved in another mobile home, and continued to operate like they did before #%n# Sandy. We would pay more just to be able to stay in our RV and visit NYC. If anybody hears anything, please keep us informed. We really liked the office staff, and hope they are safe.

RE: condition of Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey?

We were there last month. Although they did not have sewer, we loved it. We had planned to go back next April. We will be very sad if they don't re-open. It's probably one of thefewplaces that families can go that doesn't cost a fortune. If anybody hears anything, Please let us know.

RE: Tiffin Allegro Info

We've owned 9 RV's, 4 Motor Homes, 2 of them Tiffin. By FAR Tiffin has been, and is our favorite brand. You just can't beat the good folks at Tiffin. As posted above, Stephanie can help you with most anything. We LOVE our Phaeton. We sold the 05 only to get the extra bathroom.

RE: Country Coach or Tiffin Phaeton

I don't think you can make a mistake with Tiffin or CC. We have had two Tiffin MH's, and have been very happy with Tiffin and especially their excellent customer service.

RE: Hoping to visit New England states..Need Advice Please

Thanks for all the great information. It seems like the best way to go, is to visit Maine first, then work our way down? On the way from Arkansas to NE, we are stopping in Kentucky first, then maybe to Mystic, Ct, on up to Maine, and then back down? Does that make sense?

Hoping to visit New England states..Need Advice Please

We would like to visit as many New England states as possible. We know that the weather last year may have knocked out some bridges, and we've heard getting around can sometimes be tricky in a MH pulling a Toad. Do any of you have recommendations for a home base, and then make trips from that base? Would some of you that have toured the NE states give us a summary of how to go about seeing as much as possible? We heard that the Campgrounds begin to close around October 16th. We plan on leaving the middle of September. Any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

RE: I bought a lemon and need some help

Welcome to the Forum. You really have found a place where most want to help. We heard about this Forum the same way you did. We had owned many RV's and bought a motor home that had leaks, delamination, and many other problems. We bought it brand new and never expected to have to go through so much. We totally understand how you would come on here and vent. Frankly, it isn't something you want to discuss with family and friends, because it is a little embarrassing. Our Lemon was built by Thor also, so If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time there. I would follow the advice of those who have posted. Don't beat yourself up. We've all made mistakes or bad decisions at one time or another.

RE: buying a Motor home from Camping World

We understand your frustration. (Also, welcome to the Forum). We haven't bought a Motor Home from CW, but had a very bad experience with their service dept. Seems like you would have gotten your refund way before now. Like at least by the middle of June.

RE: Thor Pallazzo

Due to NO response on a serious delamination problem there is NO way would we buy or recommend a Thor product. We've owned 9 RV's, and Thor was the worst for quality (or lack of) and no customer service. Thor does provide a lot of glitz, but all that glitters, isn't Gold.

RE: Need advice on GPS --and big question on GPS Maps!

Does the RM have Lane Assist? Does it give a heads up on which lane to stay in? Can you simulate a trip? It's great to hear from members that own one.
