RE: Got stuck.....

Hey Jeremiah, Don't know if you tried this or not, but it's worked for me on occasions when I got a 2wd open diff vehicle stuck before.... ;) Try applying the parking brake at the same time you are giving it some gas... Yes, this works... What happens is it slows down the spinning wheel, allowing the other wheel to get some power to it and if it does happen to have better traction than the other wheel, which is likely the case, because the wheel with LESS traction will always spin first, you might just have enough traction to get some forward momentum and get free.. Mitch We used to do the same thing with my Dads old truck when I was younger to get the boat up some slick boat ramps.

RE: 13 silverado 1500 6.2 question

I think on the current ones it will say Vortech Max on the side and will have a single tail pipe out the back under the bumper. Can hardly wait to see what the new direct injected ones will do.

RE: This will make for an interesting debate...GM vs Ford sales

Mmmm... 87GNX. Just means my truck is more unique because there is fewer of them.:)

RE: PUP Awning worth the darn?

Use mine almost every time, it does take a little extra work but worth it in my book.

RE: Finally..the CEL is gone...See How I Did It

About the console, I fold the back seat down on the drivers side and it creates a little bench at the back of the console. My little dog will sit his butt on that and have his paws on the console and ride like that for hours, I think he likes the A/C blowing up on him from the vents on the back of he console. You could try it and see if it would work for Savannah.

RE: Finally..the CEL is gone...See How I Did It

Nice truck it should do the job nicely for the next couple of years. I'm guessing Ric won't have to worry about the TC pump rub, it looks like it is a 2wd truck to me. And maybe because it is all I know but I think the interiors are pretty nice in these trucks, understated maybe but nice. Oh and the steering wheel controls for the radio make it easy to drown out the rattles.

RE: Route 54

Greensburg was the town that got hit, that was several years ago and has made an awesome come back as a "green" town, take a few to stop and see what they have done. 54 is a good road in Kansas, can't speak for the rest of it.

RE: Is this the end of a California beach camping tradition?

Classic case of folks buying ten thousand square feet of dirt and declaring sovereignty over uses of every piece of land in the neighborhood. When I wanted a buffer between my neighbors and myself I bought enough acreage to provide it, and wouldn't dream of dictating what adjacent landowners can do with their property. And that extends to the "John Q. Public" that owns along one side! X2

RE: Flowmaster super 50 muffler

I had a 50 Series SUV on my truck with the factory single outlet tail pipe, I had horrible drone at highway speeds. I talked to a guy at a local muffler shop and he recommended the 50 Series Big Block, I went ahead and had it installed along with dual pipes out the back under the bumper. I was skeptical but the drone is all but gone now. I was also concerned with the sound bouncing back off of a trailer while towing but that hasn't been a problem with my pop up or one of the enclosed trailers I use from work from time to time. I haven't noticed any performance loss.

RE: How many of you like live in your RV?

Scott asked a simple question, I didn't find it condescending. I am not surprised by the negative comments here, seems like things have been headed that way for a while now here on RV.net.

RE: Safe to double-tow a small utility trailer behind a TT?

Since you are pulling with a 1/2 ton truck I think you can forget about hauling the MC in the bed of your truck, unless you don't mind going over your payload ratings. I am close to my max payload with a 500 lb ATV, two people, two dogs, our bags and a pop up camper hitched on the back. My pup has about 220 lb tongue weight, I imagine that Puma is quite a bit more.

Ib, the origional post was on 12-23, I believe that was before Ram announced the diesel offering in their 1500s.

RE: RV Whosalers in OHIO

Sounds to me like they are going to pick it up at the dealer and camp the first night just down the road.

RE: Good video demo of the G80 locker in action

My last two trucks have had the G-80, haven't had any problems with either one. It amazes me how much stuff I can drive through before I need to put it in 4wd.

RE: Kansas Flint Hills -Teter Rock and the Wild Mustangs

As RVers this is a great idea. I think we should all try to leave the place we camp better than we found it. Sometimes it is difficult, I've hauled some big bags of trash out of places, but in the end it will always be better for the next guy, let's hope he isn't the one who made the mess that we clean up :-). We do the same, everybody should. One time we were north of Teter Rock a couple three miles and had a flat on the pop up, as I was getting ready to change the tire a local rancher pulled up and asked if we needed any help. I thought I had every thing I needed so I said thanks but we got it and off he went. Well I had a 4-way lug wrench that fit the lug nuts on the wheels but not the ones holding the spare on, oops what the heck. So for 5-10 minutes I looked around for something to get the spare off with when the rancher comes back by, he stops again and I explain my dilemma to him and he says he will be right back with the proper tools. 5 minutes later he comes back in this flatbed Toyota that has everything a mechanic could want on it, welder, jacks, all sorts of tools and a compressor. He fires up the compressor, gets out the air gun and wham bam I'm good to go. This was all out in the middle of nowhere miles from anything man were we lucky. That was a long story to get to the part where we got to talking about camping and he mentioned there were some great places to camp out there but didn't go into specifics about where exactly. This was from that day, we were on Texaco Hill. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee180/CometCamper/fh1_zpsd337d782.jpg width=640

We went out for a ride in the Flint Hills today and guess where we ended up? The road to it. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee180/CometCamper/467e8179-82e3-41d5-b091-4658f527ebaa_zpscd9aef9c.jpg Teter Rock http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee180/CometCamper/037d034d-d910-4a67-9654-08691d07ef78_zps44784f20.jpg And the view from it. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee180/CometCamper/a674f411-7d5a-467b-81dc-bdce40771428_zps0e6c55fa.jpg We didn't see any Mustangs this time but we did pull a Suburban out of the ditch on the way out there. edited to fix pics

I like the potted plant on the fender behind the front tire. That rig really is pretty cool.

RE: Starcraft AR-One...no bathroom sink?

What is so bad about washing hands and brushing teeth at the kitchen sink? In a small trailer space is at a premium why waste by having two sinks two steps apart like rexlion mentioned.

RE: Experience using Hypertech programmer with 8.1L Chev V8

I have an EFI Live tune done by Justin @Black Bear performance. I had the TM removed, timing turned up a little bit (89 octane), and the tranny shifts firmed up a little bit, tow/haul is still at the factory settings. I have around 55K miles since the tune and have not had any issues. My mileage may have increased a little bit but I went up a size in tires at about the same time, my mileage is the same as it was at the factory settings with stock size tires.
