RE: Equilizer hitch needed on 3500?

With a short drawbar, I'd think you could get away with just the ball. It doesn't take much extension before you feel the difference. Manufactured homes are delivered using very short TV's and no WD or sway control. Notice the short axel to ball distance. It can be done with enough truck, short overhang and properly distributed trailer weight.

RE: Poll: Did you go larger?

Back in the '80s it was a tent tied to a Harley. Then a popup tied to an Isuzu. Then a 19' Aljo TT/F150, 26' 5th wheel/Cummins Ram, 32' 5th wheel/Cummins Ram, 30' 5th wheel, Hemi Ram and F250. I miss the little Aljo. We used to hitch up and go have breakfast on the beach with it.

It's a beautiful thing! Who knows what might be in my future. Many gassers to choose from. One diesel.:B

RE: GMs new secret weapon......LOL

And here I was hoping from the title of the thread that the OP had acquired his CWFL and bought a nice Sig 938 Nightmare for his pocket.

RE: Interesting travel day

One of the reasons I hate automatic door locks! That has happened to me twice with my '01 Dodge pickup. Luckily I was at home both times with access to keys. Somewhere in the owner's manual is the process to disable this feature.

RE: Interesting travel day

Are you sure one of you didn't hit the door lock button as you were getting out? Good habits are hard to break. I too like my keyless entry pad on the door for this type of situation as well as convenience at other times.

RE: I hate love bugs!!

Regular car wash suds for us for the truck and 5th wheel. Had to clean a bunch off last night when we got home. The worst part was 20 miles from home a pelican decided to bomb us while crossing the Skyway Bridge. That is some nasty rain. I'm so glad cows don't fly!

RE: I REALLY want it!.......but.

This is why I have an F250 with the 5.4L, auto/3.73. The F150 didn't have enough payload. The 5.4L has proven many times over to be adequate for our rig around the southeast and a fine daily driver with no issues to be concerned about. But it does ride rough and it's power driver and passenger seats aren't all that comfortable.

RE: Why idle?

I've owned six diesels. I believe it's more macho than anything. What's the point of music if you don't play it. One of our neighbors bought a Harley Sportster about a year ago. He can't ride it enough and when he's home, it sits in the yard with it's engine running a lot. I asked him why as it's getting no air flow across the jugs sitting there running. He said he just likes to hear it idle. At least he was honest. All of my trucks have been my work route trucks as well as TV and family cars. If my starter was so delicate or the engine so tender I had to let it idle extensively, I'd trade it for something else.

RE: Watch the 2 millionth Cummins engine for the Ram being built

Yes this thread is about the Cummins engine. So wtf are you in here whining nonstop about your GirlyManContraption. Who cares how many Isuzu pickups gm has sold. Go away.

That's interesting ib. I knew the HD Ram was making big gains in the market but I didn't realize how much.

RE: 2500HD w 8.1/Allison Opinions

Definitely would be a stronger puller but is the 6.0 not performing to your satisfaction? Sounds like a truck I'd have a hard time passing up too. I'd hem haw about gas mileage, offer 15k and wait for them to call. I've missed a couple of trucks I wanted that way too. One that I still regret missing to this day. Drive it up to 70~mph and check for any unusual noises or vibrations. Check the fluids and underside. Inheriting someone else's problem stinks too. Good luck with your decision.

RE: New to me TV! YAY!! Should I name her?

I forgot to mention, I named our first DC Spook. Imagine my embarrassment when I saw one go by outside a restaurant in Virgina that we were the only pale faces in and I blurted out "hey, where you goin' Spook?" Then, I realized that could be misconstrued as a derogatory term. We quietly paid and slipped on out.

RE: New to me TV! YAY!! Should I name her?

No apologies for the 5.4L. Ours does a fine job towing our mid profile 8500~lb 5th wheel around the southeast. No issues to worry about. Just maintain it and go. Congrats and wishing you many years and miles of happy travels with it!

RE: Watch the 2 millionth Cummins engine for the Ram being built

That or simply let Dodge/Cummins fans enjoy a milestone without having a tantrum and throwing in the usual adolescent detractors. No one cares how many dmax's have been built. Keeps the girly men out of Dodges and Fords. :B
