RE: Remake Movies

Making Johnny Depp weird looking is part of his attraction and popularity. I'm not so sure Tonto needs to look like that but a lot of people will buy tickets because of the bizarre Johnny Depp character. The Superman character in the trailers takes on a different look...he actually has a angry, mean look on his face.

RE: Car Enthusiasts ....

The 650i is a great car. Fun to drive, great looking but it can be a little pricey when it needs repairs. Resale value on 650s are like a roller coaster but the big hits on a 2007 have already taken place. Personally, I'd love to have a 650.

RE: New truck

Every state is different, but in CA, a dealer is required by law to disclose prior use of a new car (I know...I'm in the car business). It might have been designated as a demo for test drive purposes, but it sounds like it might have been sold and delivered but the deal fell apart and it was put back in stock. In most states that must be disclosed and it has to be sold as a "used car", even with only 97 miles. Was the original factory MSRP still attached to the window or was it taped back up in the window or laying on the dash? I wouldn't worry about the 97 miles though. There is probably more to the story but it doesn't necessarily mean there has been any harm done to anyone. Btw, you should call their service dept (or a different dealer) and ask them to pull up the V.I.N. and tell you the in-service date. It should match the date you bought it. If it was before, you know it was sold to someone else or put in Demo service and your warranty has now been cut short by the difference in the dates.

RE: Thermos info

Reminds me of a story... when asked what was the most amazing invention of the 20th century, the young blonde didn't say the airplane, the computer, or the TV...she said "I think the most important and amazing invention is the thermos bottle". When asked why, she said, "well you can put hot liquids in and it stays hot, and you can put cold liquids in and it stays cold"! When asked why that was so amazing, she simply said "how do it know?"

RE: Don't ask me how.

Very entertaining video but a little man made of cards walking around and picking a card? I don't think so...

RE: Woke up in Hawaii!

I can never get enough of Hawaii. I still enjoy RVing but it would never cross my mind when in the islands.

RE: Voodoo Child

I liked it. Her ancestors would roll over in their graves if they heard that.

RE: Jeff Gordon Test Drive Prank? But Is It Real? (Video)

Cool video and a nice try... but no way that wasn't staged.

RE: Art of Manliness: Toolmanship

I was taught that the only time you used a Cresent wrench was when you didn't have the proper size wrench available (box wrench, socket, end wrench, etc).

RE: Did You Serve ?

Just a side note: My CO in the Army was a great person and was a role model that really had an impact on me. I did a search and found his phone number and called him the other day. We haven't had contact in 45 years and but was a fantastic 30 minute call. So...call one of your old buddies, it'll make his (and your) day!

RE: any shooters out there?

She's good! Yesterday I went to the range and popped off about 100 rounds through a 45cal Kimber 1911 automatic. I haven't shot in years but had a blast! Can't wait to go again.

RE: What is your favorite exercise?

Did you say "favorite" exercise? The only exercise I like is the movement of my elbow and arm when I lift a beer to my mouth.

RE: What happened??

When on a road trip I always carry. In all these years, no one has ever known that I was armed and I've never taken it out of it's hiding place...and I hope I never have to. I also keep one in my bedroom at home. I know a guy that is licensed and carries a gun 24/7 in his pocket. I don't get it or see the need for it but he argues that it's when you least expect it is when you'll need it. I don't feel comfortable about it so we don't hang around together much anymore.

RE: Vehicles that you've owned that are no more.

Buick Riviera, Pontiac LeMans, Grand Prix, Coupe deVille, ELdorado Biaritz, Trans AM GTA, Bel Air, El Camino, Chevelle, to name a few....there's probably more but my memory has also been discontinued.

RE: Best inovation in automobiles since in your lifetime

Many cars now have a main control knob (like BMWs IDrive) that controls Climate control functions, navigation, and entertainment. I hate this stupid device! I like having a simple "knob" on my radio to turn up the volume or a switch to flip on the AC rather than search through a multi function screen on the dash with this Idrive knob. I think SIMPLE is better.
