RE: Update to my pellet grill thread.

I would move it away from your rig or you will set off your smoke alarms! Enjoy it.

RE: Pellet grills

I have two Traegers and love them both!! It is nearly impossible to mess up anything on a Traeger and food is always perfect. In 7-8 years of smoking, I had one problem on a Sunday morning around 6:30 MST. I called 800 service number, thinking I would leave a voice mail since it was 5:30 at Traeger. A very friendly man answered, solved my problem, and sent me a part without charge! (Try that with some other company today.) I have referred many friends and associates to Traeger and they are always as happy as I am.

RE: HELP with travel trailer purchase (Evergreen)

I believe that there was news a couple of months ago about Evergreen going out of business. You might want to check that out as that would mean no warranty!

RE: Cortez, to Ridgeway CO road question

The route you suggest is an excellent hiway but will be curvy after you pass Stoner. You will also be gaining LOTS of elevation. The scenery will be so beautiful it will make up for any curves or other discomforts! Take your time and enjoy it!

Factory installed wrong fuel tank--part 2

Yesterday I asked only if others had the wrong size tanks on their vehicles, as I wonder if it is a common mistake by mfgrs. I only had ONE poster who answered that, for which I am thankful. Most of the posters implied that I am being stupid or picky. (not) Some called the dealer stupid. (not) Some thought I should be paying the dealer for checking this. (warranty) A couple of you referred to the bar code, of which mine does NOT even have. (they checked for that) Then some argued with each other about measuring the tank and how easy that would be. (they did that) Several kept asking what brand the truck is. (irrelevant) A couple of you talked about axle ratios. (irrelevant) Some assumed it was a Chevy. (why?)

Factory installed wrong size full tank

For the last several months, I have been going at it with the dealer and factory over this issue. My tank is supposed to be a 31 gallon tank, but based on total mileage per tank and the number of gallons it takes on fill-up, it is obvious that the tank is a 25 gallon tank. When I purposely have run it "dry" several times, it will only take 24.5 gallons. I show them the receipts and they act like I am trying to act like that isn't proof of anything! They have tried to give me every excuse imaginable but won't admit the mistake. Next week, they are taking the tank off the truck and taking it to a gas station to see how much it holds. DUH! WITHOUT NAMING YOUR BRAND, have any of you had a similar problem? If so, how was it resolved to your satisfaction? Thanks in advance!

RE: Campground Ratings -

As I was told once when I made a suggestion, you are not a "member of a group" but are a paying customer of a FOR PROFIT corporation. That was when I dropped out of GS.

RE: Sorry...another tow vehicle capacity thread

Let us know when you will be hitched up and traveling because I don't want to be anywhere in front of you when you try to stop! Just because "others do it" doesn't mean it is safe, legal, or right!

RE: Southern Colorado Hwy 160 east to west

U.S. hwy 160 is an excellent hwy with beautiful scenery. You will go over two passes, the first being N. La Veta pass which is only 9300' or so. No problems here. The one you referred to east of Pagosa is notorious Wolf Creek Pass. It will not be a problem IF you gear down, go slow, pay attention, and not let other vehicle try to get you to go faster. If crowded by others, pull over and let them go. Enjoy your trip!

RE: Best Route West from Wyoming

I don't like I-40 west of Albuquerque to Gallup because of the HEAVY 18 wheeler traffic that goes way over the speed limit. At least I-70 will be beautiful scenery, even if traffic is heavy. Try and avoid Saturdays as it is always busy from Denver to Summit County.

RE: Looking at GMC 2009 2500HD 4x4 diesel

Carfax doesn't always have the facts right so be careful. I recently traded a vehicle and, a few weeks later, saw the dealer advertise it. Said it had Carfax. Out of curiosity I read the Carfax and it sounded like a different vehicle! First of all, it had the wrong city of purchase (missed by 150 miles!) Next, it said vehicle was never in a wreck, even though it was in a major wreck 5 months ago! All of the dealer service visits for several major mechanical repairs over the last year were shown as "oil changes", not the $1000 and $900 actual repairs. Be careful.

RE: Buying online wholesale-service local

The story of not working on anything they didn't sell is a crock! They say that to scare you into buying from them. I have bought two TT from dealers in other states but have always been welcomed by local dealers if I needed something. If your local dealers won't work on you rig you bought elsewhere, use a mobile repairman. They are more reliable and also less expensive.

RE: Nervous in Oakwood, Ga....

My experience in life has shown me that when it is difficult to get a deal done RIGHT during the buying portion, it will be ten times worse when you try to get service!!! The buying experience should be the fun part; not grief, lies, and sleepness nights worrying about IF you should go through with it. As for CW....there are enough bad tales posted here every day to make anybody RUN from CW!

RE: Camping Buddies

We are what you refer to as "old" and we like to meet people while walking our dog around CG or RV park. We never have problems meeting others, but we are friendly to others and outgoing. It seems to me that younger people are UNFRIENDLY, as if "their world" excludes anybody that doesn't have little kids or an electronic device jammed into their ear! Give it a try....approach others in a friendly manner and see what happens.

RE: Mobile repair vs Dealers?

I got fed up with dealers promising the work by a certain day/time and not getting it done! For the past 5 years, I have used a great mobile repair man who is reliable, trustworthy, efficient, and a nice man. He shows up on time, gets it done, and doesn't charge high rates like dealers. Using him also saves me having to drive 60 miles roundtrip to a dealership two times per problem.
