RE: trailer life subscription

I cancelled mine several years ago when it became little more than a vehicle for Camping World advertisements. Camping World, Good Sam, Trailer Life, etc. all owned by same and everything they do is intertwined for their benefit.

RE: Colorado State Hwy 71 from Brush CO to Trinidad CO

The last time I drove on 71 was from Brush to Limon. Road was okay but very boring scenery! Probably worse boredom from Limon to Rocky Ford.

Add South Dakota and Wyoming to the list.

RE: I-70 West from Indiana to Utah

West side of Denver area is Golden, Co. which has a couple of RV parks very near I-70. If you go further west, then you will not find anything decent near hiway but have lots of FS campgrounds 3-10 miles off 70. There are a couple of decent cgs near 70 in Dillon, but to get that far you will have to fight traffic going out of Denver and up to the Eisenhower tunnels. Golden would be my choice.

RE: Warning - Firearm Carriers - Avoid New Jersey

This is one reason why we enjoy living and traveling in the civilized Western part of the U.S.

RE: I-70 West from Indiana to Utah

Please be more specific about "central Colo" and also when you will be traveling.

RE: West Lake Campground, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

That area had a bad forest fire a couple of years ago so call USFS and see if it is still there.

RE: Campgrounds on western side of Glacier N.P.

We have stayed several times in Hungry Horse at Mountain Meadow RV park. It has been nice and clean, sites fairly private, and pretty grounds. Only downside is IF you are in front, you might hear road noise during day.

RE: Great Sand Dunes National Park Availability

The CG is probably not open at that time of year because of weather. Normally, when a Colorado website says walkup only, it means the CG doesn't have any service open yet, such as water, toilets, trash removal. You can stay there IF the weather is okay and you don't expect any service.

RE: Do you RV without your significant other?

I often go fishing, hunting, or to BBQ cook-offs w/o wife and she is fine with it.

RE: 2014 Federal Income Tax guidance

A brief visit with a CPA or other tax accountant will benefit you by getting CORRECT info. The fee would be very nominal.

RE: Do You Get Your Dogs' Teeth Cleaned?

Several years ago, we adopted a dog with bad teeth and spent a LOT of money to have numerous teeth extractions. Since then, we have had our present dog's teeth cleaned every two years. We do brush them weekly, and that seems to help.

RE: Dog Owners - Need Your Suggestions

We have a wonderful tri-colored Cavalier King Charles that is 99.9% perfect. He loves to travel but will do anything you want to do. Walking, sleeping, sitting around, playing...he is game for what YOU want to do. He wakes up happy and goes to bed happy. He has never met someone he didn't like and loves all other dogs he meets. If we wanted another purebred, we would get another CKC without reservation BUT Please check out various shelters as you travel and you will surely find a dog that will pick YOU!

RE: Who makes the best Ruben Sandwich?

The best I've ever had was at a small lodge near Almont, Colorado. I have no idea of the name, but I can drive you there.

RE: Vernal, UT to Laramie, WY via US-40E thru Steamboat Springs

My vote goes to N. of Vernal to I-80, as then you will make better time and I guarantee you a tail wind when you are on I-80. The view will be semis, high desert, antelope, and a few elk. Going the other way, east of Vernal, will give you a much more scenic drive BUT will be slower because of curves, climbs, and other RVs. Both drives will be enjoyable for their own virtues. Have fun!

RE: Has anyone had a run in with any WILD animals?

You say you want "interesting stories" which would mean someone did something stupid around wildlife. We see bears, elk, deer, coyotes all of the time here in Colorado. The ONLY safe thing to do is AVOID them and watch them from a distance!!! Not interesting to talk about, but SAFE!

RE: Northern MI to Denver CO to Marana AZ

Snow and ice are always a big possibility in March so you might come up with an alternate route that would be more Southerly.
