RE: Pay for parts up front?

I had to replace our awning this summer and I used my mobile repair man. He came and measured, made the install appt. withg me for the next week, and came back with the awning at the appt. time. He installed it, I paid him THEN, and we were all happy! If the small business mobile repair guy can order it without payment, CW certainly should!!!

RE: Canadian Rockies itinerary assistance

I think 3-4 days would be plenty around Banff, then move on up towards Jasper. You could use the many campgrounds between Banff and Jasper for a couple of days at each to enjoy scenery and hiking. Lake Louise, Icefields, etc. are all great areas to explore. Then I would cross over the mtn. to B.C. It is great in any direction.

RE: Buy a rental class B?

Why would you want to buy a rental vehicle of any kind? People don't take care of rentals, and they abuse them in many ways that won't show for a bit of time. We often see folks in rental doing stupid things with them in CGs and on the road.

RE: Nash 17K or Lance 1685

I buy the Nash for the better quality construction, insulation, and re-sale value.

RE: Update to my pellet grill thread.

I would move it away from your rig or you will set off your smoke alarms! Enjoy it.

RE: Pellet grills

I have two Traegers and love them both!! It is nearly impossible to mess up anything on a Traeger and food is always perfect. In 7-8 years of smoking, I had one problem on a Sunday morning around 6:30 MST. I called 800 service number, thinking I would leave a voice mail since it was 5:30 at Traeger. A very friendly man answered, solved my problem, and sent me a part without charge! (Try that with some other company today.) I have referred many friends and associates to Traeger and they are always as happy as I am.

RE: HELP with travel trailer purchase (Evergreen)

I believe that there was news a couple of months ago about Evergreen going out of business. You might want to check that out as that would mean no warranty!

RE: Cortez, to Ridgeway CO road question

The route you suggest is an excellent hiway but will be curvy after you pass Stoner. You will also be gaining LOTS of elevation. The scenery will be so beautiful it will make up for any curves or other discomforts! Take your time and enjoy it!

Factory installed wrong fuel tank--part 2

Yesterday I asked only if others had the wrong size tanks on their vehicles, as I wonder if it is a common mistake by mfgrs. I only had ONE poster who answered that, for which I am thankful. Most of the posters implied that I am being stupid or picky. (not) Some called the dealer stupid. (not) Some thought I should be paying the dealer for checking this. (warranty) A couple of you referred to the bar code, of which mine does NOT even have. (they checked for that) Then some argued with each other about measuring the tank and how easy that would be. (they did that) Several kept asking what brand the truck is. (irrelevant) A couple of you talked about axle ratios. (irrelevant) Some assumed it was a Chevy. (why?)

Factory installed wrong size full tank

For the last several months, I have been going at it with the dealer and factory over this issue. My tank is supposed to be a 31 gallon tank, but based on total mileage per tank and the number of gallons it takes on fill-up, it is obvious that the tank is a 25 gallon tank. When I purposely have run it "dry" several times, it will only take 24.5 gallons. I show them the receipts and they act like I am trying to act like that isn't proof of anything! They have tried to give me every excuse imaginable but won't admit the mistake. Next week, they are taking the tank off the truck and taking it to a gas station to see how much it holds. DUH! WITHOUT NAMING YOUR BRAND, have any of you had a similar problem? If so, how was it resolved to your satisfaction? Thanks in advance!

RE: Campground Ratings -

As I was told once when I made a suggestion, you are not a "member of a group" but are a paying customer of a FOR PROFIT corporation. That was when I dropped out of GS.

RE: Sorry...another tow vehicle capacity thread

Let us know when you will be hitched up and traveling because I don't want to be anywhere in front of you when you try to stop! Just because "others do it" doesn't mean it is safe, legal, or right!

RE: Southern Colorado Hwy 160 east to west

U.S. hwy 160 is an excellent hwy with beautiful scenery. You will go over two passes, the first being N. La Veta pass which is only 9300' or so. No problems here. The one you referred to east of Pagosa is notorious Wolf Creek Pass. It will not be a problem IF you gear down, go slow, pay attention, and not let other vehicle try to get you to go faster. If crowded by others, pull over and let them go. Enjoy your trip!
