RE: Spare tire

I thought I would bring this topic full circle.
Most of you should get a prize. The dealer called me yesterday and apologized profusely for the misunderstanding. It appears everyone at the dealership assumed that there wasn't a spare tire on the coach already. After a call to the manufacturer and a check "under the hood", voila!! I can look forward to the spare tire being changed out to a G as well.
Thanks for the update.
The dealer should have been embarassed by his staff using this line of nonsense. Be sure to rub his nose in it one more time when you finalize the deal.

RE: Opinion on 5th wheel louverd tailgates

I like mine since it lets me use the slider when up.
Makes it easy to hitch with it up too.
But I have racked up a lot of miles on trucks with a
2x8 slid in the rear slot.

RE: Type of Slide Preference

Had both and only had probs with the electric, clutch would slip.
There is a selector for opening any combination on the hydraulics.

4x4 came in handy today while backing a trailer uphill.

RE: Is there a difference between similarly equipped trucks?

Check out the size of the gas tank. Our last GMC only held 26 gal and it was a PITA. When it was time to trade that was about the only thing against Ford in their 2011 models.
3.75 or preferably 4.10 gears make life a lot easier on your vehicle.

RE: Freight Charges

So I was at my dealers (in Maine) having a couple warranty items taken care of, when three new units arrived. While shoooting the breeze with one of the drivers: He subcontracts the delivery for
$1/mile. He supplies the vehicle, fuel, and insurance on his vehicle.
The margin seemed slim to me, but he enjoyed the job and was satisfied with his end.
It was enough info that I completely lost interest in ever trying to make a buck doing that. Not wanting to exagerate, the number of miles he put on in a year was extremely high.
This was a few months ago.

RE: Diesel Truck-What would you buy?

Another satisfied GMC D/A driver here.
And don't let the DEF bother ya, Just add 5 gal every 5,000 or so
and forget about it till the reminder comes up.

RE: In or Out?

How about this thought. Do all the farmers and construction folks take the batts out of their equipment and put them in their house in the winter?
My batts are outside batts.
Exactly, just come back in the spring and give them a quick charge if the voltage is down. And @ 140# the 8D's are too much of a pita to deal with.
Never thought of it that way, but my batteries are outsiders too.

RE: Enclosed bathroom

We have the side aisle bathroom now, and would not switch back.
More room around the throne, and as others have said, more privacy.
If one is up later, or gets up, no one else is disturbed.
