RE: Help making my Refrigerator Cover White again.

Yellowing Slide Corners Solution
« on: April 01, 2012, 10:03:12 AM » Quote
The following is a post on the Carriage Forum about using a Sherwin Williams paint. Good Luck on your project. Let us know how it turns out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------The pieces that fit diagonally on our slide corners had started turning yellow, mainly, I guess because they aren't Gelcoated. A fellow RV'er some years ago told us about a paint that works wonders for that problem. We used it on the rim of our Cedar Creek door window and it stayed white for 5 years until last year when we traded for our Cameo. Just painted the pieces on our slides and now they match the Gelcoat of the Cameo. The paint is Sherwin Williams All Surface Enamel, Acrylic Latex High Gloss. We've noticed that every Carriage we've seen (without the full body paint) has the yellowing slide pieces. The paint goes on so well--I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.

RE: How hard is it to put in a skylight?

Put in a variable speed fan. we like the Comfort Air for the quiet, but there are others available. Comfort Air Save putting another hole in the roof.

RE: RV'ing old west trails

Retired and wasting my mind.
Saw some of the Oregon Trail in 2010. Don't think your MH's tires will fit the wagon wheel ruts you can still see.;):B

RE: 5th Wheeler VS RV

We have a fifth wheel and like it. However, if you are planning to tour the US for 12 months and then sell the rig and head back to Australia, I think I would shop for a good used motorhome. Lots of big dealers especially in the south. You might even find a private owner on the net that includes the toad. You won't take anywhere near the financial hit versus either a new MH or Fifth. For touring and not just siiting for perids of time, you might find a Class C more than adequate. Met a couple from New Zealand at Devils Tower, WY 2+ years ago that were in their second year of touring the US in a very nice Class B they brought over with them.

RE: Help! We'rein Abq.NM headed to Grand Canyon

We agree with docj, that if you don't like Albuquerque right now, you likely won't enjoy the Canyon. Florida's humidity makes it feel a lot warmer at the same temp.

RE: Help! We'rein Abq.NM headed to Grand Canyon

I would head south on I25 to Las Cruces, lots to see, good food. Then over I10 to Tucson and on up to Phoenix. Should be warming up around Albuquerque now anyway, might not be worth the trip to you.

RE: Bolt snapped off but from where??

If you don't find the location, take the bolt to a Ford Truck Dealership and ask around the service dept.

RE: Crazy Truck Dealers

You will get the same deal for your truck that the dealer is making on the new one. They won't be in business long if they discount the new one and give you full retail for yours.

I will second or maybe it's a third for Las Cruces. We personally know of no good reason to stay in El Paso.

RE: Water Line Replacement

Most manufactures now use PEX. A selection of tubing and fittings can be found at Lowes and Home Depot. Try to find a knowledgeable clerk and talk to them.

RE: Road side assistance

I have the Platinum Plan. Fuel filter problem on the GMC 3 weeks ago. They towed to my regular mechanic about 23 miles. Other places that could replace a fuel filter less than 5 miles away. They brought a tire for my utility trailer last year. I have no complaints.
