RE: Life can be cruel!!

We recently sold our son's PT Cruiser. It reeked of cigarette and cigar smoke. I sprayed Ozium in it a couple of times. The lady that bought it said she could tell he wasn't a smoker. She had asthma and could tell it had not been smoked in. DW told her it had indeed been smoked in. The buyer was amazed and bought it anyway. Ozium is available at most parts stores. I keep it in my MH all the time. Eliminates all kinds of odors.

RE: Pick up your trash!

Uneducated slobs..........are uneducated slobs ! Spit covered cig butts are everywhere..........There are a lot of educated slobs out there also. They don't seem to dwell on hygiene and sanitation in the schools anymore. I was educated at the University of Science, Music, and Culture in San Diego, where they did teach such. I never realized that one needed to be educated at the University of Science, Music, and Culture in San Diego to learn how to use common sense, and clean up after themselves. My mistake. Yes, people should be taught this at home and. Unfortunately they are not. I was taught at home and school. I smoke and put butts in my pack or pocket, not on the ground. I also pick up after my dog. Lack of education has nothing to do with it. That was my point. Upbringing has a lot to do with it.

RE: Questions on fantatic fan operation

My '96 Beaver has 2 Fantastic Vents. Recently, The cover that holds the motor up broke. I called Fantastic Vents for part. They sent me two new covers with new motors and lift arms. They have a knob that allows you to manually open the covers to whatever height you want. I like to leave them slightly open for air circulation. I only had to pay freight. Fantastic Vent-fantastic service. You should call them.

RE: Working under the MH

I don't trust air bags or hydraulics. I pull mine up on 2x8 ramps. You would need heavy duty jackstands IMHO.

RE: No Power To Electric Water Heater

My old 10 gal. did that. It was the on/off switch on the WH. I unplugged shore power, turned off inverter, and pried it out. I could tell it was bad by the way it felt when I switched it on/off. It was an easy fix. Just another possibility.

RE: Where are the best prices on Eternabond?

I got 4"x37' from PPL Motorhomes at Houston for about $84.00 + $7.50 shipping. Received the next day.

RE: First Trip.....FIRE

Got any comforts that you enjoy on camping trips? The sort that you don't "need"... Got Beer? Dont understand the need for beer on a camping trip. Ever. It's good for putting out fires. The good stuff accelerates the fire.

MH accident in Oklahoma

In a construction zone, a class A with toad hit a ODOT truck killing the ODOT worker. Apparently the driver went to sleep. MH had 2 adults and 5 children aboard. This is according to local TV stations. My heart goes out to all involved. If there is anything I can do to help the family, I will do it. I am about 100 miles away, but will do what i can. Makes my trip seem fantastic in comparison.

RE: Replacement of sofa

I would want a sleeper sofa bolted down. Don't know if you can do that with a regular sofa

RE: Jeep Wrangler

My 2011 2 door Wrangler has trouble pulling itself. Maybe you have lower gears or different engine. I pulled an Aliner with a '06 Rubicon fairly easily. It weighed about 2000#. Got a whopping 9 mpg. Please don't take this as a new member bashing Jeep. I have had four and love Wranglers.

RE: Feel let down by Good Sam

Same kind of experience here. We broke down 22 miles south of Moab, UT on 6/3/12. Coupling between crankshaft and hydraulic pump for fan failed. The old brittle expansion tank also ruptured Called GS. They could not find help or tow truck because it was Sunday. I called Beaver in Bend,OR. They were very helpful. Said it was a Magnaloy coupler, and would take 3 weeks to get one made. Expansion tank was Ford part. Had it the next day. Called GS to tell them I needed a tow. At 5:15 pm on Monday, a small truck showed up. The driver asked "How the heck do you tow these things?" I had repeatedly told GS and the tow company that it was a 40' DP. He gave me a ride to Monticello where my family had got a room. I contacted Karmen at Magnaloy. They expedited my order and I had my parts on Thursday. Fixed it myself, and was on my way. GS made many calls, but in the end, I was on my own. Kudos to Beaver, Magnaloy, UPS, and Rodeway Motel in Monticello. Next year, I will save my money. A old Jarhead with toad and tools beats GSRSS every time. On the plus side, we got to see more of the Canyonlands with our grandchildren. They are 13 and 9, but were in awe of the place Received a call from Zach at GSRSA. He was very nice and apologetic about the service we received. I didn't know anyone read these posts. He made everything right with us, and I was very happy with his response. I am now happy with GSRSA. Next time I will "Ask Marcus" first. Thanks again, Zach!

RE: Changing my mind from 4 down to dolly

My 2011 Wrangler owners manual says towing on a dolly is not allowed. I think it will grenade the transfer case. I took their word for it and sold the dolly. Bought the Ready Brake from NSA, installed it myself with a Blue Ox baseplate. Let us know if you try the dolly. I did not try it, so have no actual experience.

RE: OK. City by-Pass

The bypass(I-240) is not a toll road. The new crosstown expressway (I-40) is very smooth. Either way will be fine. Just avoid rush hour, as with any other city. You have to go several miles north of I-40 to find a toll road. I don't know why anyone would do that. Coming from Missouri on I-44, one could take the Kilpatrick Turnpike around the north side of town, but I would not. You have to stop often to pay tolls. Think Orlando.

RE: Need help with Beaver Patriot dash computer

Finally found the problem with the Silverleaf! I found a bundle of wires behind the battery box that had been been spliced with crimp on connectors. Found my blue and yellow datalink wires, tugged on them, and it started working. Today, I am going to redo all the splices in the bundle. Thanks to everyone for their replies! Now,it's off to Moab on Sunday For our first long trip.
