RE: Help with Prodigy Controller Shorting out

Your brake controller is working properly and advising of a problem in the system, just like it is supposed to. I would suspect the wires running to one of your brake magnets is shorting out inside the drum.

RE: headlights

You may have some sort of daytime running lamp module installed. Find it and disconnect it. May help if you mention what type of chassis you have.

RE: Battery Question

Add distilled water as necessary and recharge the battery. It will be fine. You should never have to add electrolyte to a battery. If it appears that all the spillage came from one cell, you could use a hydrometer to even the levels in all cells, and then top them all off with water.

RE: Wiring Help

Try to probe for power at a connector or light socket etc. If you pierce insulation it will lead to corrosion and troubles in the future.

RE: New F 150, Have ?

One is a battery charge relay, the other is a fuse. I think they both are installed in the fusebox under the hood. Usually included in the package is a diagram to show you where to install them.

RE: Truck is leaking oil after last long trip...

check and make sure your transmission hasn't been overfilled. Sounds like maybe hot trans fluid is being expelled from the vent. Might not be a bad idea to nstall a trans temp gauge to monitor this. Trans tempswill be hottest in stop and go tpe situations and backing trailer uphill, jockeying etc.

RE: Why can't a Tacoma be towed

As stated earlier, a transfer case will typically have an internal oil pump for lubrication, that is driven by the input shaft. If the engine is not supplying power to turn the pump, you have no lubrication.

RE: 2 Tioga Problems

Check to make sure the factory dome lamp switch on the dash is not left in the "on" position. This can discharge battery as it may not turn on an overhead lamp that is controlled by it's own switch, but it could activate a relay, which will draw a little power.

RE: On my second altenator on toad, brake system problem?

If you are driving long hours with the key in ACC position, you may be running the battery down far enough that the alternator is always working hard to recharge the battery. Problem could be due to wear and excess heat. Also many rebuilts use cheaper parts which will fail faster.

RE: Running lights won't turn off

Check the connector on the rear of your truck and also the mating connector on the trailer for damage or corrosion. If both are ok, maybe a sticking marker lamp relay in your truck.

RE: HAVE A LAUGH AT MY EXPENSE

Not sure which motorhome chassis you have, but if it's a Ford, you can defeat the shift interlock if it doesnt work. Turn the key from lock position to off position, move shifter to neutral, start engine and put it into drive from there.

RE: Thetford Tecna Toilet Controller Board went Bad

Pull that circuit board out and look over it very carefully with a magnifying glass for a loose solder joint. May be a very quick and easy repair.
