Hello all...We are now back, just today around noon. No reliable web access the whole trip. Should have listened to NC and gone w/ the Verizon hotspot... live and learn. Have not had time to read all the posts since the last time we got access but will catch up in the next couple of days. Also fill u in on the whole trip. Gotta get dinner and get ready to watch the debates... best to all

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

AM trying to catch up on the reading. Sounds as if all is going well for everyone. especially Mower, one great deal after another. ro_sie, how is Art? I hope all is well. NC, man I hope they don't throw youa curve ball. I hate shift work, always have. guess I was just meany to be a 9-5 guy. I was lucky enough to hang in there. I don't think I have seen handbasket, although there was a guy back in Green River, Ut when we headed for Torrey. We had a good time in Torrey, visiting Capital Reef NP and left on Tuesday morning headed for Escalante, UT where we are now visiting and hiking the Grand Staircase. That UT 12 road from Torrey to Esacalante is one beautiful drive. But there are some STEEP grades...NC, I had to pull 14% grades on the way. Down in second gear in a couple of spots to stay around 30 mph. I thought about all those folks on the fourm asking "can I pull this" those who ask that question don't ever want to hit one of those 14%. Also, coming out of Colorado (leaving the Denver area) at one time we were at 11,0000 feet. The Silverado was just lugging whenit dawned on me that we were at 11,000 feet...the darn thing was having a hard time breathing. by the time I dropped to around 9,000 the power started coming back. We are headed for Bryce Canyon tomorrow. Best to all you guys. Ciao for now.

RE: RV Repair in Torrey Utah

Thanks to all for your responses. They are pretty much what I was thinking anyway. I am currently at Wonderland and they have given me a couple of names which I will try on Monday. I have the same sense as bobsallyh regarding an RV place. I am hoping to find a shop that does trailers as thier main line of business and can actually do a good alignment.

RV Repair in Torrey Utah

I am in need of some rv repair, suspect alignment problems. Does anyone have any recommendations for an RV repair shop in the area of Torrey Utah (near Capitol Reef National Park). I appreciate any information. Moved to General RVing Issues forum from Towing.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Gee, you guys have been busy while I have been heading west. Selling horses cutting grass etc. I have PM'd all. Mower I got yours too. Here's a short read on what's been happening. Left home on Monday morning around 9am and stopped for the nite around 4pm at a great KOA in Cadiz, KY, called Prizer Point. it's a combination marina and KOA on a really nice lake. Hardly no campers in the place so the DW and I got a prime location right on the lake. Really nice place, herself wants to go back next summer foe a whole week. We'll see. Left Ky this morning (tuesday) around 9am and got to our next camp around 4pm in Danville, MO. Very nice place. Am sitting outside banging away on this post, listening to the Cicada's and smoking a cigar. Beer and tomato soup for dinner as we had a late lunch at a real nice rest stop on the Illinois / MO border before heading on to Danville. Went through St. Louis, saw the Arch as we drove through. They really have the whole interstate through St. Louis torn up. What a mess to get through. So far no issues (knock wood) the TPMS system seems to be working well and it is nice to be able to keep an eye on the tire pressures and temps. Don't know if it is really necessary but it does give a sense of safety. We plan on keeping pretty much the same schedule, on the road by 9am drive until around 4pm, all the way out to our first real stop - Capital Reef National Park in Torrey Utah. Wednesday we should be in Wakeeney, KS for the night. I'll get some pictures up on photobucket in the next couple of days. Take care everyone. Ciao for now.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

ro_sie and NC, check your PM's for a crazy deal. Now, to all the OOPS folks; we are leaving at 0900 8/20/2012 for the western parts of the country on our long anticipated 6 week trip. Hopefully all will go well acknowledging that stuff happens. I will endeavour to keep up daily or every other day posting to let you all in on the latest whatever. Ciao for now....it's supposed to rhyme !

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Dump the zip ties for some good old fashioned stainless hose clamps. The kind you tighten with a screwdriver. Why? Because the non-UV rated zip ties deteriorate relatively quickly, whereas the UV rated ones (which come in many colors besides black), last much longer.I used UV rated ties. Picked them up at Consolidated Electric. Is there another reason?

RE: iNTERNET oRDER tRACKING

That's odd. After I place an order online and I get the email telling me that it's shipped I can go online and find out who the carrier is and track my order. Sign in to CW and pull down the menu under your name (upper left corner, Hi Christopher! in my case) and click Order Status. Select your Order #. You get a rundown of the order and at the bottom it gives you the Shipping Address and Shipping Method, all the info you're looking for. This is correct. The system should also include a link to UPS so that you can see exactly where the package is in transit. If this isn't working or you are unable to see your tracking info send me an email, and I'll have it researched. The only exception to this is when an order/item is being shipped directly from the supplier. Most of them do not provide us with their shipping manifest information so that we can provide that level of detail on your order history after logging into your online account. Thanks to both dznyfan and Neal. It worked as dznyfan described. I also rechecked the link in the original CW email .....and it worked. Also as Neal described. I finally figured out why I didn't see any order status info when I checked before. I checked on it at around 8AM Eastern time today(8/13) assuming that since the order was placed and confirmed on friday 8/10 something would be in the system. However, the order status shows it as shipping 8/13 so I must have queried before the system updated. Neal, again, thanks for your assistance; stellar performance.

RE: Scared to buy

Why would the dealer discount because the seller can't use the manufacturer's warranty? The warranty money generally goes to the manufacturer. Is the manufacturer going to let a dealer sell a unit with no warranty?No.....they just don't honor the warranty and they do that by delaying, refusing etc etc. If you are buying new because of the warranty you are being mislead.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

I just did the "sewer hose" modification. I used a 4.75" ABS fence post cut to the same size as the bumper. I painted it black and attached it to the bottom side of the bumper. I didn't want to drill holes in the bumper to use the plumber strapping so I attached it using 6 heavy duty zip ties. I did drill a number of holes in the bottom side of the fence post. Am headed to AZ from NC a week from today. We'll see how the thing holds up.

RE: Advice needed on possible consignment sale

Regardless of what you "think" it is worth in this economy you will be lucky to get 70% of that. Personally I think I would cut the price to near wholesale and simply take the loss. And use this as a learning experience to buy nothing jointly unless you are married to the guy.Ever hear of a nasty divorce????????

iNTERNET oRDER tRACKING

Once a CW internet order has been confirmed as ordered and in stock Is there anyway to track it as to where it might be, i.e. has it actually been shipped, what company (FEDEX or UPS) where is it now, expected delivery date etc etc? Some companies provide you with an email providing the shipping info that allows you to track the progress. The information I rec'd in CW's email confirming the order provided the info to go to CW's website and see EXACTLY the same info that was contained in the email, i.e. that the order is confirmed and that the item is in stock. Big whoop, the email confirm told me that. What I want to know is where is it. Did it ship, if so what company has it, how can I follow the progress.

RE: Grill that will work with my RV propane output

I am now moving to eliminate the regulator as well. I tried the extended stay hose assembly with the hoses I could not get it to connect to my double tanks and use the existing connections. I would need to buy a longer hose to connect to the one tank. The next is the length of the hose from the tank to the grill would not reach my awning. In Oregon camping in the drizzle I need the grill under the awning. I like the idea Bonefish has. I am working on this. I thought I saw places on some campers that had actual grills for the camper though. I know I have seen them advertised right on the side of the camper with connections for the grill.Mine came with such a grill which I will be more than happy to sell you. But, I don't like having a grill hanging on the side of my TT and it really doesn't have enough space etc.. Consequently I bought the Coleman Roadtrip grill at CW. It does have the regulator built in but I assume it can be removed and replumbed for small $$......in the mean time I have 5 or 6 1-lb bottles which I have no other use for, long story, and will use them up before I convert. I have already fired up the Coleman using the bottles and it worked fine(did not cook just checked the operation). Am leaving next week for a 6 week trip to Grand Canyon and will use up the bottles and then see if I need to replumb on the road...hopefully not a big deal. Bonefish, did you get a quick disconnect fitting at Ace as well as the fittings that go into the grill? Our ACE did have some Mr. Heater quick connects in the bbq equipment section. The other fittings were in the plumbing section. The link I gave previously is a good source if you cannot find the right fittings. We have used the heck out of our RVQ hanging on the side of both our campers and they have never caused any problem with the fiberglass where it is attached or awnings. As far as I can tell you would have to do something really stupid to damage the side of the camper with one. Like lighting the propane burner with gasoline.Hey, thanks for the info. I used mine and it did ok, I just felt uncomfortable with the size of the thing. Then there was also the warning sticker on the side of the TT which says not to have anything on fire under the awning. Now I will be able to move the grill anywhere I want and have a seat and a beer while the burgers cook.

RE: dog problems

If there is a camp host tell him. My Ruger or S&W is always with me in CG's that are not private CG's just in case...one should never be unprepared for just this type of issue you refer to. Thats the ticket....lets shoot all those unleashed dogs! My Gawd!!!We are all wise to protect ourselves. I don't see where there was a mention of "shooting all the dogs" . Your knee jerk reaction is not warranted. I have two dogs, beautiful little coker females. I am an animal lover. Perhaps you have never seen the horrible damage a dog can inflict when it chooses to attack; I have. That said I always carry my Glock, am licensed for concealed carry, and would have no problem shooting any animal if I or my family were attacked. So get a grip.

RE: dog problems

Hi, we're new to camping/rving and are out for a number of months heading from the northwest back to Florida. Our preference is for camping in the national forests. We have had many problems with people with their dogs, and we're talking large dogs, not on a leash. twice, while heading to a restroom, ladies have left the dog outside, loose while she uses the facility. These dogs have been agressive. One woman using a shower had three dogs, loose, and one was a pit bull would not let me anywhere near the restroom. the husband came by, put one with the wife, and told me point blank he would not put his dogs on a leash, with a string of profanity. do people feel that because its a gov't park/forest they don't have to follow rules? We've been in washington, oregon, california, and nevada and every park or forest has had a big sign that says dogs must be on a leash. can anyone explain this? thanksYep, MORONS
