RE: Air Bags - which brand?

If you need to stiffen your ride you need to add something like SuperSprings if you need them for load, or better shocks if you just need a stiffer ride. Air bags are designed for better ride and in reality will make your ride less stiff. Lynnsr

RE: Do you like your cabover bed?

We've had both, and preferred to the north / south for many reasons. It gives more side storage in the bed area, No climbing over the other person in the bed to get out. As far as I'm concerned it's a wonderful place to put the bed, what else would you put over the cab of the truck in a truck camper ?????? I guess the bottom line is you have to be healthy enough to get up and down with relative ease or you can't very well use a truck camper. Lynnsr

RE: Fan Upgrade - Bath & Range UPDATE !

Update !!! We just returned from three weeks in Arizona. Had a great time. The fan installs were fabulous, I thought the one in the bath would work fine and it does. I was concerned about the one over the range however did a wonderful job, you could see it pulling steam or smoke from the pans on the range. They were quiet, unobtrusive. The blue light from the fan in the bath was a great night light. I'm quite satisfied, more important the DW is happy. Lynnsr

RE: Prices for a new roof.. Who knew?!

"taking it personal"? Personally, I am of the belief that anything that effects me as an individual is personal. I respect the fact any business works in their best interest. I too am in business, in taking care of myself. I do not choose to pay more than what is owed. I choose to do business with those I think are reasonable in their service and cost. You bet, it is personal. Wayne Wayne; My sentiments exactly. (And I too, quote jobs every day) Lynnsr

RE: Leaf Helper Vesus AirBag

IMHO I use them for 2 diff purposes. Leaf helpers I use for load. Air bags, I use for ride. (bags were designed for ride) If you use the bags for load, you will get more sway & bounce. Lynnsr

RE: Fan Upgrade - Bath & Range UPDATE !

If/when motor needs replacing Ill go the muffin fan again -but Im thinking 3speed or varible with 150 cfm minimum, though the higher cfms get pricey. I just aluminum taped muffin fan to vent screen. Easy way to mount but also to force any air movemnt thru-muffin fans really side pull air... One side benifit-have you been outside yet at night? Frozencpu.com is one source for comparing variety of fans avaliable. No I haven't seen the aurora borealis coming from the bathroom on the outside. Our first trip since the mods will be next week. I have the same concerns............ The stove vent flapper, only partially. I'll report when I return. Thanks for the address of the other fans ( I may have to use) Lynnsr

RE: Fan Upgrade - Bath & Range UPDATE !

I like the idea, especially in the stove vent. Does the Cooler Master SickleFlow 120mm Blue LED Computer Case Fan have enough vilume to be effective in the stove vent? I have a Surflo variable fan in my bath. It is great. I can use it for the bath vent only, whole TC fan (intake or exhaust), or simply as a fan with the vent closed. It is covered with a MaxAire cover. I seldom close the SurFlo vent cover. Wayne Wayne The airflow is excellent in the bath, however we will go our first camping trip for three weeks leaving on 1 April. The airflow on the stove, just setting at the shop, seems marginal however the one I took out was a tornado.(Airflow and sound) DW tried it and said she thought it would be just great. I'll follow-up after some camping time. Lynnsr

RE: Ladder To Cabover

I built these steps for the cab over in the hallmark (sold 2011) however in the Northern lite we don't need them. No longer have the camper and this was the best picture I could find. http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/93c152b2-1dc8-4f40-9b9a-f4a523b879d5.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/6e96ca03-0ccc-41a1-84d2-82fcce47524a.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/26515e13-cc15-4479-aa29-b9fc272e3346.jpg Lynnsr

RE: Fan Upgrade - Bath & Range UPDATE !

covered wagon Good idea I hadn't thought of leaving it on for the condensation. dan-nickel Cooler Master SickleFlow 120mm Blue LED Computer Case Fan from Amazon tvman44 I use Plexiglas in the bathroom for the outside daylight. On the range I used 10 gauge aluminum. Lynnsr

Fan Upgrade - Bath & Range UPDATE !

Well I finally got tired of listening to the noisy bathroom fan and it's 1.25 Amp current draw so I removed the old stuff. Installed Plexiglas and a new fan that draws .3 Amps. It works wonderfully and it's quiet. http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/9b04b364-8ed5-4c48-ade6-e90102d9f277.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/d1285f0e-38be-4725-ada0-f59cca95b9b2.jpg I liked it so well I did it for the stove fan as well (it was also very noisy and drew the same current) http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/2248bdcd-8289-4da3-ac29-7940cd0b1886.jpg Stove fan with filter in place http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t405/lynnfmsr/2aa2a629-69b8-40c4-8e04-a34e0f6522ff.jpg Stove fan without filter Lynnsr Update !!! :) We just returned from three weeks in Arizona. Northern Lite - Closet to Pantry

Our Northern lite camper has a hanging cloths closet we never fill. I installed a cabinet that holds three slide out file storage cabinets, with 5 inches of space on the side to hold hanging cloths. (with a solid stop so things don't go flying out during travel) In addition the door on the left side only opened straight out so I installed 170° hinges (direct hole to hole replacements) for easy access. I'm using Flambeau, I've also used the PVC, both have been carried on top of the camper, however I have had them in the basement. Lynnsr

RE: Front Hitch Generator Mount / House

Lynnsr, If I understand this right then the receiver tube needs to have a little curve to fit. The tube can't be flat. Is that why you cut the piece out so you could bend it easier? THanks,. Hi Dinnis1 Take a look at your tow hooks when you remove them and you will see that they are placed at an angle so they miss the 3 inch crossmember of the frame. My receiver was cut so it would simply fit in that space. (No bending involved). If you pull your tow hook I think you'll see what I'm talking about. I'm not sure about yours, but on the 3500 in the same year as mine (2003) the frame is identical, as are the tow hooks. Lynnsr
