RE: Lessons we've learned over the years

You can buy a cover for your main drain which has a hole in the center of it. The hole has male threads and its own cap. It is useful for the purpose of draining grey water thru a garden hose if you happen to be on a site that has limited sewage (allowing only grey water and not black). I know of only 1 campground in my area that has this setup, but it is nice to be able to drain the grey water when needed. The cap only cost about $5.

RE: Just got here and Already asking Questions

Sounds like you've got plenty of truck to pull it. You shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting to the longer trailer. Maybe swinging just a bit wider than your used to with the smaller ones that you have towed. You may want to practise backing it up in a parking lot, but you will most likely find that the longer trailer is easier to maneuver that the shorter ones. They are much easier to judge with the flat side vs one that is hauling 4 wheelers. The equalizer is an excellent hitch. You might want to check out the moderator Les' post on adjusting your hitch setup to the most optimum adjustment. As he states, he has seldom found a hitch installed by a dealer that couldn't use a bit of fine tuning. Best of luck and enjoy your new rig.

RE: Dealer wants more sales tax after delivery. What?

Integrity...Doing what is right when no one is around (or available to ask). If they owed you money, they would let you know. Big or small, doing what is right - is always right!
This is something that my father told me when I was very young. It came in handy on that very windy day when had borrowed my brothers truck and the wind pulled the door out of my hand as I was getting out in the parking lot of the large company that I work for. The door hit a brand new white cadillace that I had parked next to. There was no one around and I could have easily moved and never been caught. Then I recalled the words from my father. I left the truck where it was and put a note on the caddy's windshield. Things were pretty tight back then and I was expecting the worst. I got a call a few days later from a very grateful man who thanked me for doing the right thing. The caddy was not dented nor was the paint damaged. A buddy of his buffed out the paint mark for $25. I sent him the $25 plus some beer money for his trouble. I slept very well after that. So my advise is now that you have done what appears to be the right thing, is to treat yourself to a nice weekend away in your new camper. And don't forget to bring yourself a couple extra beers.

RE: Your thoughts on Cherokee grey wolf w/slide out

I can tell the OP that I have had an 06 Cherokee 28A+ for the past seven years and am very happy with it. I have had very few problems (just the basic maintenance). I would certainly consider buying another one when I'm done with this one (which may be awhile as everything is in very good shape). My family and I have done a lot of camping in it over the years.

RE: Peppermint oil

I learn something new every day. I plan on staying in the camper perhaps five or six nights over the winter (just as a place to sleep, no cooking, food, just a place to sleep). Any concerns with me breathing the fresh cab or peppermint vapors? thanks

RE: Peppermint oil

Thank you, by "fresh cab" do you mean fresh cabbage? or am I misunderstanding?

RE: Peppermint oil

I always remove all food products, soaps, toothpaste, etc. But last year I got a mouse who brought his own food with him. I found a handful of acorns that he had brought with him as there was nothing to eat in the camper. Do you know how often I will need to replace the cotton balls or is one treatment good for the whole winter? thanks

Peppermint oil

I'm thinking of using some peppermint oil on cotton balls in the camper this winter to try to keep out the mice. I got one in there last year and it made a pretty good mess in a cabinet. Any advise from anyone who has done this in the past? Do I have to worry about it staining anything or any other concerns? thanks for the help.

replacing antenna

I have your typical crank up RV antenna which is now 7 years old. Somehow something got jammed and when I went to crank it up I broke the crank. Is it a lot of work to replace the antenna?
thank you
