RE: Michigans

Thanks for the answer! We had a bet. I bet it was a meat pie and he bet it was a little hamburger or slider. We both lost. Guess he won't be doing the dishes tonight.

Michigans

We just got from a wonderful trip to the Adirondacks where we saw restaurants advertising Michigans. We didn't have an opportunity to try one so I ask, what is it? Thanks

RE: Adirondacks, New York

Thanks for all the advice. Limekiln and Cranberry have been added to our list. This week vacation may turn into a month but that's even better. Thanks so much!

RE: Off the beaten path in Smokey Mountains??

In Townsend on the main road that goes toward the park there is a great restaruant but not sure of the name- Something like River Rock or River Stone. It backs up on the river and seems like there is a motel next door. The locals eat there and the food is wonderful. They have something called a turkey brownie that is sooo good! It has a very nice quiet country atmosphere and is really fun. The breakfasts are very good too. We often ate there 2x day. Sorry I can't come up with the name (ain't old age great?) but there's not much else in town so should be easy to find. Congratulations to you both. PS ..."a little slice of heaven" you're a real keeper!

RE: Adirondacks, New York

Thanks for the additional input. We're thinking we will move around the area and visit several of these great CGs. They all sound and look so good. Like the more rustic ones for a few days. Hope we can get the reservations this late in the season. thanks again

RE: Adirondacks, New York

Wow, thanks for all the great advice. This will keep us busy for a while following up on these campgrounds. We will probably do some dry camping for the wilderness experience then go to a resorty CG. Thanks so much

RE: Adirondacks, New York

mbopp, We are not picky about where but probably would like to stay in the Eastern part. That is the fun about being retired, we aren't in a hurry and getting there is part of the adventure. Thanks for your response.

Adirondacks, New York

We are looking for a quiet campground in the Adirondacks where we can enjoy the scenery and wildlife, maybe see a bear or two. Hook ups would be good but will dry camp for the wildlife. Any suggestions? Thanks
