RE: Who is cooking your father's day dinner?

I smoked a beef brisket and grilled some tomatoes and zucchini while my wife made potato salad.

Western PA Campground Needed

My wife and I will be taking our MH motorhome to visit our parents just west of Pittsburgh and are looking for a CG. We have a 31 ft. Class C and would prefer a place with electricity and water hook-ups within 25 miles of the airport. That will put us close to both sets of parents and our siblings. I thought of Raccoon Creek State Park, but I'm not sure they can handle MHs. All suggestions will be welcome!
Thanks,
Bill

RE: Eastern Shore Camping

Delaware Seashore State Park is between Rehoboth Beach, DE and Ocean City, MD. You walk under a bridge to get to a beach on the Atlantic Ocean (not a bay) and it has full hook-ups. We stayed there last week and plan on going back in early fall. The only downer was the lack of shade.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

I'm taking 4 boys (3 grandsons and a friend) on a trip next week, so I spent the day digging out the seatbelts on the dinette and couch and verifying that they worked. Tomorrow I'll drain and refill the water tanks.

Washed it, waxed it and filled it with gas for our trip to the beach next week. Also installed a Scangauge II so that I can monitor RPM and transmission temperature.

RE: Do you have a Good Sam Rand McNally RVND-7725-Lm GPS

I used the 7720 for a trip from Baltimore, MD to Natchez, MS in April and did not have problems with visibility at any time of the day or night. I am very pleased with its performance to date.

Replaced all of the pneumatic hold open rods on the underneath storage compartments and checked the torque on all the lug nuts.

RE: GPS - Rand McNally v Magellan

I just finished a 2000 mile trip using the RN7720 and am very happy with its performance. The ability to set the parameters for my RV (including haz mat items such as propane) paid off and kept me from the infamous Baltimore tunnels.

RE: Natchez Trace Campground

We'd like to be as close to the north end of the parkway as possible. An alternative would be a place just east of Nashville off of I40.

Natchez Trace Campground

We are leaving next weekend for a trip from Baltimore to Natchez, MS via the Natchez Trace Parkway. We're looking for a good campground on the south side of Nashville close to the northern terminus of the parkway. We will appreciate any suggestions you can give us.
Thanks,
Bill

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Had a Sealtech leak test preformed. Didn't find anything major, but feel better that we found three small areas that hadn't shown from the inside and fixed them. Tomorrow will be real world test as we are expecting some serious rain over the next 24 hrs.

Ran the generator and started cleaning/loading the MH for our first trip in 2 weeks. We will use the local trip to assure ourselves that all the systems are working before leaving for Natchez, TN the end of this month. Tomorrow, I'll inspect the roof and Dicor any questionable areas.

RE: Natchez Trace Trip in April

We'll be starting the trip by taking I70 West from Baltimore to I81 South. The Good Sam Trip Planner routes me from Frederick, MD to Winchester, VA using 15/340 through Harpers Ferry. I haven't driven these roads in 10 years and am wondering if there are any choke points or hills on these roads that can create problems for a 31 ft Class C motorhome and toad (45 ft total). My other alternative is to stay on I70 to Hagerstown, MD and then go South on I81 (an extra 40+ miles). Nay information you can give me on these roads will be appreciated.

RE: Natchez Trace Trip in April

Thanks for the quick responses. We're looking forward to this being our fist extended trip in the Minnie and I'm trying to soothe my wife's concerns. The only two open decisions we need to make are which direction to take on the trace (i.e. start in Natchez or Nashville) and whether we will tow our Jeep Liberty. I'll use the next six weeks making those decisions.

RE: How long does it take you to get ready to go?

We unload most of our stuff before storing the Minnie for December through February, so it takes a day to get ready for the first spring trip. From that point on we can be on the road 4 hours after deciding to go. That time is spent checking tire pressures, oil level, battery levels, & etc., and my wife stocks the refrigerator.

Natchez Trace Trip in April

We're planning a trip from Baltimore to Mississippi, touring the Natchez Trace from Nashville to Natchez, for the first week of April. What should we expect as far as weather? Would you recommend driving the Trace South to North or North to South?
Thanks for your help!
