RE: Fear of Driving to the Mountains

Hwy 38 is a decent drive up and down the mountain to and from Big Bear. We have been up there several times with the rig in signature. We are headed back up there over Labor Day to stay at Serrano in Big Bear, lots of good advice here. Just take your time and don't drive over what is comfortable for YOU. There are turn outs that you can pull over and let traffic go buy if it backs up behind you. Enjoy!

Great pictures, we just returned from two week vacation in the Tetons and Yellowstone. I love that area in the spring. Thanks for sharing.

RE: One card one account one membership

Thank you for the response Wes but part of my point was a single account period. So my member number for roadside assist and GS would be the same along with a single account and card to carry. One issue I see would be that your roadside expire date may be different from your club expire date. Never had to use roadside yet, but wonder if the service truck checks your card for verification. I doubt that they could check verify the expiry date otherwise. I guess if GS dispatches them, then that should be good enough. I just used GSRA and the service truck never ask to see my card.

Praises to GSRA

On Sunday of the Memorial Day Weekend I was traveling North on I15 just south of Salt Lake City UT. "BANG" was all I heard. Pulled over and the tread on the right front tire had come off of the tire. Used my Good Sam app and called GS and talked to David. I gave him our location and the brand and size of the tire I needed, no spare. He located us immediately and got me phone number and told me he was going to have to find a tire. Memorial weekend, I thought, not good. It took him a while but he called back and said he had located a tire, same brand and size and the service guy was on another call but would pick up the tire and be there within the hour. Service guy arrived and had the tire changed within a half and hour, would have been sooner but he broke his automatic air gun. We were back on the road within four hours and happy campers. THANK YOU DAVID AND GOOD SAM!

RE: Has anyone purchased a Summit Rocker from Camping World

Looking to buy a folding rocking chair, and I am intrested in the Summit Rocker, item # 69704 sold at Camping World. There are no reviews on this chair, and I am looking for some opinions on the quality of the chair before I pull the tigger and order 4 of them. I like them as they are a bit wider than the other rocking chair I have found (Prime Products). Thanks We have one of these chairs and we had it about two months when one of the seams on the seat part started coming apart. We are still using it, taped it, but I was disappointed in the quality. It is a very comfortable chair.

RE: Salt Lake and Heading North?

We are headed out next weekend for the Tetons and then on to Yellowstone. We have reservations at Colter Bay RV park, FHU and at Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone. We stayed at Fishing Bridge a couple of years ago.....very tight sites and we are pretty small compared to some....

RE: Good Sam RV Club vs AAA

We tend to travel from point A to point B with road maps and little else, but would we benefit from a Good Sam membership? We are just gitting back in to RVing after a few years. We have RVd since 1978 and remember when Art Rouse named his van Sam. If you are asking about map and trip service, which I think you are, I would stick with AAA. With AAA you can go get hard copy maps at any AAA location. Good Sam doesn't offer that, I don't think. If you are asking about Towing Road Service I would go with Good Sam.

RE: Towing a toad to Alaska

We use one of these Coastline. The Silverado is the 3rd toad we've had covered with these and the second coach using one. I'd buy another when it becomes necessary. No paint damage but we keep these clean front and back. We've got 170,000+ tow miles on these. This is what we use on our Vue.

RE: Are we the only people in all of So Cal who love to camp?

Hello - I am new here, and I was wondering...are we the only people in all of So Cal who enjoy camping? :0 I'm beginning to think so! We got our TT last June. My Husband is an experienced camper, and I loved camping as a kid, so we were really excited to hit the road and meet some fellow campers.....but everywhere we go in CA, the people we meet are visiting from another State! There must be other people out there who are camping, from So Cal? We enjoy camping at the State parks and places where we have the feel of really camping...so maybe that has something to do with us only meeting out of town folks? Just curious... :) I am not sure I agree with that statement, try getting into a state park without reservations made six months in advance. We have just about given up on getting reservations and have been using county parks, most of which are very nice. San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino etc.... And Welcome to the RV.net camping community lot's of SoCal campers here.

RE: Provo, UT to Grand Tetons US-189 / I-80 / WY-89

We have taken 89 off of the I15 to Logan, Bear Lake and on to Colter Bay RV Park before. We will be doing it again this year starting Memorial Weekend. No problems. We stop overnight in Logan at the Traveland RV park, nothing special but nice pull through sites.

RE: Right rear jack retracts some when leveling side to side.

I have Power Gear all electric jacks and when I level manually and adjust like you do, they will do the same sometimes, not always. I have no idea why, will be watching this thread.

RE: Full-timer unhappy with Extended warranty issues

I had some parts replaced under extended warranty, Western General, they were Power Gear parts, they told me it would be five to seven days, but they would cover the part. I opted to pay out of pocket to get it overnighted. If I were you that is what I would have done, especially if I was living in it. (Just my 2 cents). I did this through my mobile mechanic. Hope it all works out for you.
