RE: GettysBurg ??

Gettysburg CG, Granit Hill CG, KOA, Artillary Ridge are all good. Gettysburg is our favorate. Artillary Ridge is the closest to the battle field and have a stable next tot he camp ground that does horse back tours. Not sure if any of these are open past November.

RE: Bicycle woes with Fifth Wheel

Put a receiver hitch on the front of your truck and bike rake them there.
I agree. Here is my setup. It is a Dodge but they do make front hitches for all makes and models.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully we will get to California one day. About 8 years to retirement. Then we will get out that way.

RE: ~Post your campsite photos here~

Hatteras Sands CG Cape Hatteras, NC Site A-C-2. This is a great family owned and operated camp ground. The sad thing is they are trying to sell it. It may not be around next year. Hope things turn around.

RE: check lug nuts

I always check the lugs before every trip. I also draw a small line on the lug and the wheel. During the trip, I can quickly visually check the lug and see if the line on both are still lined up.

RE: Trying to install LED lights, they only blink fast!?

The LED's do not pull enough amps . It thinks a bulb is out and blinks the light fast to let you know you. This was the method that was used before the computers took over and show you a "light out" on your dash. I have heard some people put in resisters to fool the system.

RE: Not picking on anyone, but.....

In my opionion after 20 years in fire service currently a capt. if there are flames coming out of your truck it is a write off just protect the exposures. even if you put it out the insurance is not going to fix it.
Bob
Bob,
I am also a Captain with 20 years on the job. I agree with you. It doesn't take much fire to total a vehicle. Be safe.

RE: Awning Tie-down

Last year in the Outer Banks had an early morning storm come up quick. Tried to put the awning up but the wind was two much. A neighbor helped the wife and I hold onto it until the wind died down and I could put it up. Some bend parts. Got lucky. Two other campers in the CG lost there awnings. Put the awning away every night before bed. Pat

RE: DTV gripe!!!

We actually had the opposite experience. We got more channels then we got before digital. Now, the area we were camping in, (Gettysburg,PA) there are several large TV markets within 50 miles. All of the same channels we got before we got again only with a better picture. I am sorry you had a bad experience. Hopefully, you will have better luck at other locations. I know some TV stations got permission from the FCC to increase the transmittion power. Maybe the stations in your area will also do the same. Take Care, Pat

RE: State of Maryland wants change

I guess we will be turning ours in. We only use it once maybe twice a year. Not sure $18/year service fee will be worth it. I guess we will see.

RE: Camp Hatteras

Love that camp ground. Stayed there two years ago. That was our first time pulling the trailer down there and I have to agree with you on the Bonner Bridge. I have towed across it now several times and it has gotten easier. Enjoy your vaction. Pat

RE: Gettysburg Pennsylvania

I second Gettysburg CG. The owners are great people. We are staying ay Granit Hill CG this weekend. We have never stayed there before but it looks nice. We have also stayed at the KOA. It is small with some tight spots but we really liked it.

RE: 1 days, 16 hours, 34 minutes...until pull out for OBX!!!

The Outbanks is a great place to vacation. We have been going down for 17 years, the last two we have camped down there. We stayed at Camp Hatteras the first year. We loved it. They pretty much have anything you may need. The beach is just over the dunes and the sound side is just across RT 12. Last year we went further south and stayed at Hatteras Sands in Hatteras. We wanted to be closer to the ferry to Occracoke. We will be down there in August again this year. Have a great time. Pat
